Felt like it was missing a big knock-out punch for me. I guess it was very intentional that Gears and Halo weren't there, but without them it felt like we needed something dramatic to plug that gap.

I think they should be commended for the game, game, game, game section in the middle.

6/10, if Sea of Thieves and State of Decay 2 were this year I'd score it higher. PUBG and Crackdown 3 will be awesome though.

Come on explain that one to me?

Well it is. EA's game and Metro aren't out until 2018.

Having some information about the games being showcased would have been nice though.

Quite worrying how little Microsoft have outside of Gears, Halo and Forza when it comes to actual exclusives. Really showed tonight.

Not a great showing of the new hardware, but as a games conference, it was solid. The constant "EXCLUSIVE" shouting for timed exclusives really got on my wick though. Probably a 6 or 7. After that, I'm convinced Sony aren't going to show anything new.

I think that's been the running theme for about 5 years now.

Other than the fact the were missing a big exclusive (as much as I love Crackdown, Crackdown 3 wasn't quite it), the thing that kind of disappointed me most was a lack of detail on the original Xbox BC stuff.

It was amazing for a second and then he just said one game was coming. Problem with original Xbox BC was always going to be that there are games that are going to be difficult to bring out because of rights/publishing issues. He should have had a list of 10 or more games they know are coming.

5 seconds looking at the script should have told them it was an awful name. (Phil introduced a tech chap who had to use the name in full a few times. Third time he mentioned it I was already sick of it.)
French guy doing AC: Origins demo supposedly called it Xbone One X, so that was something.

It scares me when I'm rating Xbox conferences higher than you. :slol:

What about all the other games out this year that will support it...or for that matter the ones that are getting patches?

That's even more worrying, especially when you compare it to the new IPs Sony has come out with in that time.

It's certainly a minimalist design and almost certain to get about a million special editions in all colours and designs.

Well that was ok, but I'm kind of jaded on zombies and post apocalypse stuff. Forza comes out so often I never manage to unlock stuff - I wish I could carry forward my progress / garage over games rather than slog over again.

I don't know if it was my connection but it seems like there was still pop up and texture jumping in some of the videos - I mean it's pretty 4K HDR pop up but still..

Still no VR either - I thought an Oculus tie in might come from Lucky's Tale but no.

At £449, and nothing of note until 2018 I think I'll sit this out for now.

Player Unknown Battlegrounds literally made me so happy. I posted about it in the PC thread around a month ago, and seriously was looking into getting a new PC for it. I've been addicted to streams of it on YT Gaming. It's such a tense experience, I'm so happy it's coming to consoles.

One day the Xbox designer will be able to release an actual rectangular box devoid of any features. Their life's work will then be complete and they'll be able to die happy.
