Thing I was thinking as well is that it's likely only the first party titles will take full advantage of the power, multiplatform games would probably not bother/offer same support as PS4 Pro especially if the system fails to sell tons.

They said in the conference that they had something like 30 third party titles preparing free 4K updates for launch.

I think they realised that not everyone has a fantastic internet connection so having processing done in the cloud while great in theory just doesn't really work so they've quietly dropped it.

So cloud computing does provide extra power? Thus the point of a more powerful console is?

That's good, I've no idea how dev time/costs work but would it be better for devs to make X the lead platform and then port down to PS4 Pro/XBO reg/PS4 reg?

20 times calculation power, power of console will dictate its resolution, it's not that hard to follow man.

More more power.

You've got that wrong way around, they port up.

I'm not sure that was all that was promised all those months ago when they first talked about it, but fair enough.

Xbonx is DOA and there are remarkably few games to play on it. I can't see how that conference can sway anyone sat on the fence.

My thoughts exactly, what selling points does this new XBO have for non-XBO owners if they never wanted one before? If you have a PC and PS4 that's all you need

If MS can get you to start using the Windows Store for some PC games then that's enough for them.

I've had Gears of War stop downloading after 75GB for the second time. I might just skip the three Microsoft exclusives that I want to play so that I don't support such a ridiculous platform.

Watched the whole conference and agree with most of what I've read so far. What Microsoft needed to do was hit us with loads of killer exclusives, instead we saw yet another Forza and a few games we already knew about, all of which may be good (Sea of Thieves, Crackdown 2, Cuphead etc.) but none of which are system sellers.

The Xbox One X is a nice looking system and probably explains why we haven't seen a black Xbox One S, clearly it's got a fair bit of processing power too but as others have said the price is just too expensive.

For most people the Xbox One S, which we've been able to pick up recently for as low as £200 with several good games, is a far more attractive option. Unlike the PS4 Pro this new model is so much more expensive than the alternative models that not many people will choose to go straight for that model if they need to upgrade, replace or are new to the hardware. For an extra £100 it's easier to justify the cost but here we're talking an extra £250. It's simply far too expensive. It isn't helped by the fact it has the same hardware library as the original Xbox One which really gives no major incentive to pick it up, nor is it helped by all the games announced also appearing on Windows where the hardware should significantly outperform the One X.

The name is awful too.

I didn't particularly care about most of the conference but there was enough for me; Forza (obviously), some more on Assassin's Creed and Shadow of War as well as the OG Xbox back compatibility. I'm in no position to be getting an X or upgrading my PC so will get Forza for my normal Xbone and probably get the other two on ps4 as they're likely to run/look a bit better.

When you look at what IP they have access to

Perfect Dark
Battletoads
Fable
Banjo
Kameo

To name a few, why are we not seeing any of these?

Rare is huge, they have more than enough staff to work on 2+ games.

That must be near complete now so they can have another team working on something else?

In regards to the BC for original Xbox, that's great to hear as I still have tons of old Xbox games at home. Have they said what (If any) visual/technical improvements they will get?

'The team have tricks up their sleaves' is what they said about performance and look of OG Xbox games.

Wish they'd show something other than Sea of Thieves (again), then! With the 3D platformer making a comeback it'd be the perfect time for Banjo 3.

MS have decided to not show first party games that are more than a Year out on release dates, that's why we had no Halo 6/Gears 5 stuff. Hopefully (REALLY HOPING) Fable 4 and more are in the works.

I keep forgetting Lionhead is no more, so I wonder who they'd get on Fable 4?
