A lot of ex Lionhead staff got picked up at Rare, several are working on Sea of Thieves.

Not being attuned to 4K games but being blown away watching a rolling demo of a city on a 4K TV in an electronics store I think at first I may be slightly bowled over when I first play my games in 4K, especially Gears and Horizon 3. Is it THAT MUCH of a step up?

I remember my jaw dropping after plugging my 360 into a HDTV...

But with that said, there was always one issue lurking in the shadows with the arrival of this new hardware: Microsoft has an exclusive games problem. As in, it doesn’t have enough of them, nor ones that are GOTY contenders like what Sony and Nintendo have been putting out lately.

Microsoft’s plan to combat that notion seemed to be to say the word “exclusive” as many times as they could during this press event, but often that came with a qualifier of “console first exclusive,” which implies it’s just a time lock. There were not than many true exclusives featured, and those that were did not exactly come across like blockbusters.

Rare actually would be a really good fit for a Fable game tbh

Xbonx is DOA and there are remarkably few games to play on it. I can't see how that conference can sway anyone sat on the fence.

My thoughts exactly, what selling points does this new XBO have for non-XBO owners if they never wanted one before? If you have a PC and PS4 that's all you need

If MS can get you to start using the Windows Store for some PC games then that's enough for them.

I've had Gears of War stop downloading after 75GB for the second time. I might just skip the three Microsoft exclusives that I want to play so that I don't support such a ridiculous platform.

Yeah, the state of the Store App is a massive issue for Microsoft. I've said plenty of times in the Windows 10 thread that it's the biggest problem the OS has and they really need to get it sorted.

£450 is a ridiculous price for mid-gen upgrade.

The Xbox One was £430 on launch, and that was a generational leap.

Even if you ignore specifics over what is a "generation", given that the PS4/Xbox have been out for 3 years and a half years.

And the problem is, so they don't split the market, they still have to cater for the lowest common denominator? You have that extra power but it's always going to be tempered as you make sure no-one is left behind.

For that price you expect a brand new console generation, not an iteration.

Ok but this console gives you the vapours.

As an Xbox conference it did nothing for me. I don't currently own an Xbox, and I still don't have a reason to own one based on what I saw. Any of the games showed I am interested in I can play on PS4/PC.

The Xbox One X (That strawberry floating name) console itself looks great but for essentially a 4K version of the One S the price tag is insane. I was really hoping this year MS would move away from showing off a new Halo/Gears but what I saw last night was a company that don't have any other big IP's to show us.

Crackdown 3 looked gooseberry fool, too.

They've been working on that game for years now and it looks like a 360 game.

Am I reading this right? So none of the building destruction in Crackdown 3 will be in the SP portion of the game? :|

Pretty sure that was known soon after it was first revealed. (Maybe even upon reveal.)

I have no idea why it looks like ass then. With Sumo now (supposedly) the lead lead developer, this has troubled development written all over it.

Shame, the first was an instant classic.

It is if you enjoy feeding hunger/thirst/tiredness meters while scrabbling around in the dirt for hours on end. I wish it had been a bioshock ripoff instead of survival 'stick and rock' bollocks.
