This machine is about graphics, and graphically there was nothing coming this year outside of Forza that screamed 'PS4 Pro can't do this'. There was nothing there that would make you purchase an Xbox One if you don't already own one. I'm not sure there was anything even there to make you upgrade from an S yet.

I think MS really failed to emphasise why you need to spend so much extra money buying this over either an Xbox One S or PS4 Pro.

+Supersampling on XOX
+Metro's in-engine footage looked fantastic and I hope that at least the final PC version is close to that. The previous games have been received well so I expect great things
+Ancient Egypt Assassin's Creed. It doesn't looks revolutionary but that's my favourite setting from history so I'm excited as I've been meaning to get back into the series for a while :toot:
+The orc in Shadow of War seems like my kind of bloke  Hopefully humour like that can keep my interest in the game longer than Shadow of Mordor
+Athem looks like it could be fun with a group of people from here but I hope that it doesn't turn into a boring grind like The Division

~Terry Crews was the best thing about Crackdown which looks like it has taken a big step back from the city-wide chaos of the trailer from E3 about 5 years ago
~Sea of Thieves looked enjoyable but I'm sceptical as to how much fun it will be without scripted sequences and the narrator
~Original Xbox backwards compatibility is good for Panzer Dragoon Orta but not much else as I have Dolphin :shifty:

-Nothing to convince me to buy an XOX as I have a PC that can match, if not, surpass it
-Every game with XOX features that comes out before the console feels like it's undermining the console's launch

In terms of games that I'll buy on PC or PS4, I'd give it an 8. For something that tried to convince me to buy an Xbox One X, I'd give it a generous 6 as it's just reinforced my plan to replace my Xbox One with an Xbox One S. The original Xbox backwards compatibility announcement means that I might finally play Panzer Dragoon Orta so that's something :P

I get the lack of exclusives, but I thought as an actual show case it was bloody brilliant. I am just glad that Cuphead finally has a release date, and DBZ is confirmed for Steam, shame Below is was still awol.

That said Sea of thieves looked awful

Also, noticed a lot of games in that that looked co-op, but still for only four people. Now we've moved past split-screen gaming, what's holding them back? I don't just have three friends. Gears of War took a step *backwards* with 4, too!

Jay-sus - if Photek is giving it a 6/10 then that means it's a 5/10 with regular people scoring! ;)

My feeling is I wanted to see one big exclusive game. I know Forza 7 is but sorry if I discount it for not being my cup of tea. Metro, Assassin's Creed and the indie Blade Runner style game looked good. Anthem graphically looked next-gen. Microsoft are asking people to upgrade but the only benefit is 4k graphics - I wanted them to give us another reason. Microsoft's core customers are Xbox One owners - yet I can see many sitting this one out unless it gets exclusives.

PUBG will be interesting to see how it does on the Xbox, I mean it is so far from ready, but it is easily my goty. It just has a great many issues.

I think it was better than some have said on here, there was some wonderful looking games - but ultimately you gotta say this wasn't the game changing conference Microsoft needed and I think the XBOX One X is likely dead on arrival really. Too expensive for me for too little change.

That said, Metro,Sea Of Thieves Dragonball Fighter X and The Last Night looked sensational.

You can watch the whole show again, with our pre and post show discussions here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151162936

As someone who doesn't have an Xbox at the moment I was pretty happy with it. I've been leaning towards getting a One over the past few months and the games they showed me there, specifically Crackdown 3 getting a release date, have convinced me that it's finally got enough that I want. So I'll be getting an X at some point. Maybe not at launch but I expect to go into E3 2018 as an Xbox owner once more.

It's actually tempted me to trade in my Xbox One. There's nothing on there that I play, and while I want Crackdown 3 and sea of thieves everything else I can play on PC or PS4.

Ah yeah, I forgot about that. Is Crackdown coming to PC too with Xbox play anywhere? Xbox is pointless

It looks like from now on all of Microsofts Xbox One exclusives are going to be on the Windows 10 store too.

If you approached this simply from the perspective of how many good looking games were shown, then it was pretty good.

E3 isn't really about that for the big 3 though- the real barometer of success is how new and fresh are the games, and how exclusive are they. On both counts this was very disappointing. MS have no chance of "winning" E3 on this showing.

As for Scorpio I really fail to see the point beyond the quasi-PC bollocks of having the same games at higher res for the sake of it with no discernible gameplay benefit. I don't know whether they are jaded or I am, but as someone who has gravitated towards MS's console exclusives over the years, that was underwhelming.

Funny you say that because I was watching this on the verge of selling my Xbox One S. I wanted something really inspiring to keep me on board, but I didn't see anything aside from Crackdown 3 and original Xbox titles (Jade Empire FTW).

I'll wait until I see Sony's conference.

I was going into it with the mindset that I was probably going to buy one at some point anyway, so that might have made it easier to sway me.

But with the exclusives that it's got now (Halo, Gears, Forza, Crackdown and Sea of Thieves), combined with almost certainly getting the best versions (Technically) of the big 3rd party games it was enough for me. I'll still stick with my PS4 for any big MP games, depending on who's getting what, but I think I'm happy enough to move on with an X. Especially since I've got access to a 4K TV to use it on. We'll see though, I could always change my mind.

Why not just upgrade your PC? all the exclusives will be on that anyway.

Until the reviews start rolling in that compare the two side by side. You'd have to think that with all the extra power the Xbox One X is going to keep getting 'best console to play on' for each game that supports it.

It might not be in your face, but that kind of thing is important in the long run. Granted with the price difference its not going to make any mass market in roads into Sony's console lead, but then given the price, it doesn't matter what the games look like it was never going to be able to do that anyway.

Does the new Xbox come with the expensive controller? That looks like a regular one from the photo.

Looks pretty cheap too. Hopefully it looks better in the plastic
