That doesn’t sound great. You should look at getting an OLED screen next time.

I think I'm going to upgrade from my 50" to a 4K TV to make the most of the PS5. The last two TVs I've bought have both been Sony and I've been very happy with them. Is there a must have purchase for a 4K TV or will I have no problems going with Sony again?

I'm looking at this one

Don't get a Sony TV, The Android OS is awful.

LG are a much better option imo, especially if you aren't buying a top-end model.

We've a 50" TV but I do the majority of my gaming on my monitor. I'm pretty sure 27" is considered the optimal size for 1440p so yeah, that's what I bought.

27" Monitor. I don't know about going any bigger as I would have to sit further away at my desk.

I might have to go for a 49" TV due to room size.

Or is that a stupid thing to do? I don't know TVs so I didn't know if there's a situation like "well 49 inch is crap because you don't actually get the full benefit of 4K until you reach a screen size of 55"

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

About 7.5ft

We currently have a 50" HDTV but a 55" would require us to buy a bigger unit as well so I'm trying to weigh up the options.

Just get the biggest tv you can possibly afford, you won't regret it.

I wouldn't let something like unit size dictate. If you can fit a 55" TV in the space at a comfortable distance, do it.

Damn you, guys. I was hoping you'd say "yeah just go 49, you'll be more than happy"

My heart really wants to go 55" but my head is saying a large enough unit will mess up the lounge's Feng Shui.

I will need some time to deliberate. Still 2 months until the PS5 comes out so I have time.

Some point in the future Zilnad is sat at home watching his massive television when suddenly Bill Gates bursts in:

Bill: "I'm searching for someone to leave my fortune to! If you've got a TV smaller than 50" I'll give you it all!"

Zilnad: "Damn you Victor!!!!!"

We stayed in a lodge this weekend and the tv was above the fireplace :dread:

Not that we watched it apart from at breakfast, but it was still so uncomfortable to look at a screen that high up.

Our TV is above the mantelpiece. Because of the setup of our living room there's nowhere else for it to go. We've gotten used to it

Same. Not ideal, but we've got it at a titled angle which helps.

Gone with the 55" as I found a wider, slimmer version of my current unit which should fit it.

Arriving next Monday and I'm so excited. Here's hoping it's not too big but I've a feeling it's actually going to be the perfect size for our room.

Why worry about units? Get it wall mounted, so much better.
