5.1 system with optical cable?

alright boyos.

Im looking for a decent 5.1 surround sound system thats got an optical cable to plug it straight into the 360. My price range is roughly 100 quid.

anyone out there got a system they can recommend? Ideally its got to have the optical connection, as i beleive thats the only way to get an authentic surround sound feed from the xbox...or am i wrong?

I've currently got my eye on this one.

However, it's £100 over your budget. I would say most home cinema systems have an optical connection these days, but then really I have no idea what I'm talking about lololollllol

Most systems have optical inputs nowadays.

I have a Panasonic system installed in my living room, similar what has been suggested, which is ridiculously good! Also if you have a TV manufactured by Panasonic, you can work both from one remote.

In my bedroom I have the Pioneer/360 system. This was well worth the money and comes with 2x optical inputs. The only system I've seen with this!! So I have a PS3 using the other input. The drawback is that this system isn't a 'home cinema' system as it lacks a DVD player.

Good luck finding a Pioneer set however

You'll be looking at £150+ for a system by the way.

Yeah, I've got that one. Works a treat. Especially good for hearing peeps sneaking up behind me on COD.

I have a Yamaha 5.1 system that takes the signal over HDMI from the 360 & PS3, no need for optical then. It also outputs the picture.
