Embark on an emotional and breathtaking journey in the sequel to the award-winning A Plague Tale: Innocence. Follow Amicia and her brother Hugo, as they do whatever it takes to survive a brutal, uncaring world.
A Plague Tale: Requiem eventually expands in scope and improves upon its predecessor's stealth action, but the heartrending story of two siblings battling against the odds is where it truly excels.
Siblings Amicia and Hugo went to hell and back in A Plague Tale: Innocence in their quest to survive an inquisition, endless hordes of rats, and the humans that looked to take advantage of the young boy's curse. And now, in A Plague Tale: Requiem, they must pay the devil his due. This is the tale of the duo wanting to control their own fate as the fragile peace they had found falls apart, and the harsh lesson that their choices have consequences. As a game, Requiem is a bigger, better, and more ambitious adventure over its predecessor, but as a story, and a look into the lives of the characters that inhabit it, it's so much more.
This long awaited follow up to Asobo Studio's cult hit doesn't come without grievances, but A Plague Tale: Requiem a rock-solid adventure that's grim and gorgeous in equal measure. Smart iteration on established mechanics and pitch-perfect pacing lead the way to a journey across some breathtaking locales that ups the ante in nearly every way by its shocking conclusion.
At times, it feels too long and oddly sadistic in its focus on inflicting fakeouts, pain, and suffering on the de Runes. Other times, I admired Asobo’s command of this series, its rat-infested stealth mechanics, and its grandiose storytelling. Fortunately, the latter edges out the former, and Requiem feels like much more than just a follow-up.

Embark on a heart-rending journey in A Plague Tale: Requiem, set to release in 2022 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC, and in Cloud Version on Nintendo Switch. The game will be available at launch on Xbox Game Pass for Console, PC and Cloud.
Shame the first one on the Switch is cloud only. Plague is one of my favourite non-Nintendo games and one of the few games I wouldn't have minded double dipping with. I don't know anything of the technical build of the game but I wouldn't have thought it would have particularly stretched the Switchs hardware to give us a graphically slightly watered down version. Games like Doom Eternal wasn't quite as pretty as other versions but were fine.
Apparently a leak on the Mircosoft store has led people to speculate a release date of 17th June. Always sceptical with leaks - but I would love this one to be true.
