It's often said to be 3am.

And when Billy Idol sang about "in the midnight hour", he clearly meant 0000-0100 hours. Midnight is a shortened form of "middle of the night". Therefore, the middle of the night is 0000-0100.

Last year, i woke up at 3am to find that something was rattling nearby shopping bags containing christmas gifts. It was so noisy i assumed the cat had escaped the kitchen. Then it sounded like something was in the bag, like a mouse or some animal had fell in. When i investigated however, nothing was there, and to say i was freaked out was an understatement (wasn't caused by a draught either as the window was closed).

3am is a weird time of night.

The scwuns thread made me think of this:

Krispy Kreme doughnuts are actually rubbish.

The assorted ones vary, it's the original glazed that are unquestionably delicious. Please clarify your stance.

Stance is clear enough, it’s the fundamental doughnut material that tastes bobbins and that infects them all.

scwuns are much better, but I’m not certain they deserve the ‘classic British food’ status they share with better dishes. They’re no Sunday roast or full fry-up.

I don't think it's really fair to compare a savoury meal to a single sweet item.

But you apparently don't like doughnuts so...

Krispy Kreme are really nice, but very overpriced. Most indie bakers will do better options if you’ve got access to one.

I've heard that the Krispy Kreme from the actual shops are massively better than those found in the cabinets?
I've only had them twice and the last time was about 3 years ago and the nearest shop is a 40 minute drive away so sod that.

Krispy Kreme is ok but Doughnut Time are the king

https://doughnuttime.co.uk/

A few open in London, each doughnut is huge and they always have unique ones for the week/month.

Dunkin is ok but once you've tried doughnut time everything else tastes crap. Hope they come up north one day.

Wish my image sig would work
