I still have my ID from Salford Uni.

It will allow me to get the discount on a new top spec macbook pro. 13" one. I just need to pretend i am still a student nurse - the ID card has no expiry date.

talking about a saving of £350 (including apple care for 3 years).

I am a lifelong Alumni member of the university and an Alumni card carrier. Is it right or wrong to do it.

It's wrong, but you should still do it.

Look at it this way. 2 years ago when my laptop was stolen. Apple would not let me use the ID to get apple care again and would not transfer the apple care for the stolen machine to the new machine.

Im not thrilled about it. But it would save me a fuckton.

Why do students get a discount anyway? :|

I just see that as a big fat "We're ripping everyone else off" sign. Saying that I do the same.

Go for it. I have no problem with former uni students getting student rates after they finish as the debt that students are asked to get into these days is scandalous and you are just saving yourself a bit of cash.

i dont like fraud or theft of any kind.

But i got hammered by my bank when i bought my new laptop (replacing the stolen one) because Apple strawberry floated up when processing the order. They took three weeks to process the funds for an instant debit card sale.

The bank charged me £100 and cancelled two DD which cost me another £50.

This is why i dont feel guilty doing it!

Abusing student discounts isn't really fraud is it?

By the strict letter of the law it is but it's hardly the crime of the century.
