I had to tweak my uBlock Origin (On Firefox) when Youtube went into full lockdown and stopped working.

Followed the steps here and I've not seen a peep of any of this since.

Reading down that thread seems like it's only an issue if you are logged in to youtube, which is why I've never seen it. Easy solution then!

(If you really need your subscription feed or whatever just copy the video link and open it in another browser or something)

Every now and again I'll open youtube in an incognito browser or on my work laptop where I'm not signed in, and the default homepage is just a thing of absolute horror.

I was watching a few vids on YouTube this evening and, oh boy, they really seem to have ramped up the number of adverts shown. I'm usually kinda okay with it but I got a bit frustrated and stopped watching.

The two ways I use youtube are

1) Watching or clicking through to watch an embedded vid
2) Searching directly from my address bar with the duckduckgo "!yt" shortcut

so the home page is not something I ever see
