That's probably fine? As long as Sami doesn't show up in a belly-dancer's outfit anyway. They're really just adding an art style over a previous game, which they've obviously already done quite well- (drowned out by disagreement)

Yeah, I don't see it as an issue. But it explains why it's a remake and not a full new title-especially with Intelligent Systems, the original devs being busy with Wario Ware this year, and Paper Mario last year.

Perhaps we could have a Metroid/Mercurysteam situation where Nintendo work with them on a remake to prove their capabilities and then give them the keys to make a new entry, especially if the fans prove there is an appetite there.

This approach is a great way for older, more niche franchises to get another chance. *cough*remakeFZeroGXyoucowards*cough*

I've been saying this for ages! Granted, I didn't peg WayForward as the indie for Nintendo to give Advance Wars to... But yep, more of this sort of thing!

Always disappoints me that Nintendo didn't foster the relationship with Monster Games further, given they specialise in racing games. Could have got them working on any of their dormant racing franchises on Switch but they're seemingly just making Nascar games these days.

Who are Wayforward? Is it a good thing that they are on this, or bad?

They do the Shantae series, that's probably the thing they're most well known for: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WayForward

Shantae games tend to review pretty well fwiw.

They also worked on River City Girls and Mighty Switch Force

Wayforward are good. They make their money churning out TV show tie-ins, but they've also done River City Girls, The Mummy: Demastered and Aliens: Infestation.

Should be safe hands for an Advance Wars remake, although the most exciting Wayforward game announced this E3 is actually River City Girls 2!

Shantae is an underrated series. I have to admit I didn't get along that well with River City Girls but I think it's just because beat em ups aren't really my genre - it still seemed like a decent game.

I do love these games on the GBA but £50 is a bit much for a repackaged Switch release.

It's 2 games to be fair, and it'll be easy to find for £40ish.

Still on the pricey side but a lot of content at least.

Did they mention the map editor at all? Online multiplayer is a great addition, but if it has map sharing that'll really elevate it and give it a proper edge over the originals.

Not that I really got into Wargroove's map sharing side of things, but still!

The way I look at it, I never played these games before, so it's going to be £20 per new experience for me, which I am totally fine with.

Note that Nintendo also charged £50 for Famicom Detective Club. I do like FDC, especially the second game, but this is an objectively better offering for the same price.

If you've never played these games before you're in for a treat as they are so engrossing. I remember playing them for hours, even on the GBA screen they looked great
