I think I was little harsh watching back. The style is very clean and a clear evolution of the Advance games.

It's obvious not a stunning looking game by any measure but it works.

Doesn't really matter about the scores, as long as you made it through, that's good enough.

DS is my favourite. It is hilariously broken in terms of balance. It's really fun despite that.

Think the look they were aiming for with the 3D was akin to this.

Count me also as having the visuals grow on me, the tabletop look Dig Dug mentions really works for it :)

It seems to run smoothly too, UI efficient and all and you can speed up animations too.

God I want this  Was so blindsided by the announcement, never would've thought we'd hear back from Metroid and Advance Wars in one E3

Definitely getting this. Had the first two on the GBA. Loved it.

I mentioned to my family last week that a new Advance Wars would be nice. I'm not really a fan of the art style though so unless there are some decent new features in there I'll probably stick to playing my GBA games.

I don't think enjoying FE would necessarily mean enjoying AW. If you enjoy the strategy aspect then sure, I think it is worth a punt. The RPG elements are not there though.

Better think on if I enjoyed the strategy parts of FE

Yeah very conservative is how I'd put it. If you were going to just directly translate the GBA graphics to the Switch, that's how I'd do it.

I think it'll look okay in handheld, but maybe a bit too bland and basic on the big screen.

Glad they included the sequel too, as at first I thought it was just going to be the first game which, while great, was surpassed and greatly added to in the second.

Hope we might get some new stuff later, either added in as endgame stuff or DLC, or they use this as the basis to create a new title.

The main thing is, it does show that the series isn't forgotten. So while I'm not bowled over by it (again, think it looks a bit like the base standard for an upgrade with not much oomph added), just knowing it's not in the same shallow grave as F-Zero, Wave Race and 1080 is nice enough.

I love the new art style, it looks like toy soldiers on a game board.

That's probably fine? As long as Sami doesn't show up in a belly-dancer's outfit anyway. They're really just adding an art style over a previous game, which they've obviously already done quite well- (drowned out by disagreement)
