PostRe: AEW Wrestling Game Announced - Coming September 2022

Fight Forever has been confirmed as the name by AEW.

The crowd chants in the game will also be genuine, with some of them recorded last night.

Still really looking forward to this. Not expecting triple A production values but if they can include a good quantity of their excellent roster and nail the wrestling mechanics, I'll be very happy.

Apparently Owen Hart will be in this, roster size is around 50 with the likes of CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Adam Cole and Ruby Soho making the cut. There will be some noticeable omissions but they are looking at potentially adding DLC down the line.

Looks fine, bit worried as there seems to be some reports that the relationship between AEW and Yukes is not in a great place

It’s also now coming to PC too.

Apart from the patented Yuke’s dodgy hair, it looks acceptable from the short snippets they’ve shown.

Would be amazed if it makes the September launch window though.

Looks decent, albeit with Yukes continuing their long transition of being unable to animate hair!

Less worried about it looking cutting edge, I just want it to feel good. You can mess about with the graphics in future instalments. WWF RAW looked phenomenal on Xbox and was slow and cumbersome to play, with no modes and 1 arena.

It looks like a more modern No Mercy look, if it plays like a more modern No Mercy and the Switch version is good I think I could get this day one.

Key Features

Combines nostagic arcade wrestling feel with innovative All Elite Wrestling finishers and offensive moves
Talent roster combines biggest legends to enter the ring pus brand new, high-flying AEW stars!
Single, tag-team, 3-way, 4-way, ladder, Casino Battle Royale, Falls Count Anywhere, Unsanctioned Lights Out, Exploding Barbed Wire Death and online co-op multi-player matches!
Online co-op multi-player!
Tag team matches feature a sequence of team maneuvers performed with simple commands

Match types sound good however it sounds like the character limit is 4 so no trios matches.

Having a barbed wire match makes it stand out instead of a cage. That's not something you'd ever get in a WWE title. Acclaim and ECW did it - it was the big differentiator for Hardcore Revolution compared to Attitude, but like the game itself was a massive disappointment. The game engine wasn't cut out for it, so all you could do was Irish Whip your opponent into the wire ropes, and blood would appear on their backs. AEW has the capacity to be a very gory game if they wanted it to be, again something WWE would never want to be, but perhaps they're consciously trying to avoid an 18 certificate?

I’d assume they want to keep this as low an age rating as they can to sell more? Probably the same level of blood as a WWE game.

THQ Nordic has a showcase August 12th so I wonder if AEW Fight Forever shows up on that stream?

That logo on the box art looks awful. Both the layout of it and the faux metal look

I'm so glad they're leaning into the 'fun' of it rather than taking it super seriously like WWE games do

Possibly inspired by Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe on the Xbox 360 and PS3.

Currently up for pre-order at GAME and Amazon priced at £49.99, so I guess that's what you'd call a semi-budget price point, these days.

It looks good, are those the full entrances or cut down for the purpose of the video?

I dunno. Maybe they're going full homage with abridged versions. :slol:
