Dwnloading The Signal now

Can you play it straight away or do you have to play the whole game again to get to it?

Nope you can start straight off on the DLC.

I'm going to play it tonight when it gets dark. 8-)

That’s the reason why I’m waiting until the winter to buy this game. Some games need to be played at a dark evening instead of a sunny day.

I redeemed the code few weeks ago and said that I will receive an email with new redeem code.

What the **** is going on?

It would seem to be the case that you're an idiot with no patience who redeemed your code too early and must now wait and trust in the infernal machinery of Microsoft to furnish you with a replacement code by email.

Good luck, you'll need it

No warning on leaflet. It doesn't say 'Don't redeem until 27th of July etc'............

Well considering the DLC release date has been known for quite some time why would you expect to redeem it early than that date. Pretty stupid if you ask me.

It's cocktail time!. Then again when isn't it.

The Signal was OK. Nothing special. Definitely felt like a tacked on piece of DLC rather than a continuation of the story. A step up in difficulty as well. I died quite a few times.

Still gets dark in the summer. :|

You need to play this game now! It's already received underwhelming sales. :(

It does continue the story.

Hardly. There isn't any story development comparable to any of the six main chapters. It's nothing that couldn't be summed up in a short opening cinematic before Alan Wake 2.

FFS! :x :x I managed to crash the 360 thanks to a strawberry floating game-killing glitch near the very, very end! Had to reset the console manually as the controller was vibrating constantly... :fp:

Finished the main game earlier tonight.

Enjoyed it overall and am glad that it didn't finish with a big, ott boss fight as is usually the norm in games like this.

I think I'll leave it a wee bit before getting the DLC as I've played it pretty solidly for the past week or so. How long is the DLC btw?

Thanks. May as well just get it now then. Thought it may have been 2 or 3 hours. Would have been too much to ask for free I suppose :shifty:

It definitely could last 2 hours if you take it slower. I only found 3 alarm clocks and didn't find all the cut outs.

Also, how tense is the chainsaw part in the DLC?!

I finished the main game earlier as well, and thought the tornado was meant to be a massive boss battle, which kind of disappointed me - some of the best games from the last few years end well without the need for a boss.

But turns out I just misunderstood and just had to shoot a few flares into it.

Damn good game, anyway.

I must say, playing through this on Nightmare mode has made for a much better experience for me. It really adds to the tension when you know you're low on ammo and you know you could be surrounded by Taken at any moment. Speaking of Taken - some of the stuff they come out with does make me laugh. Like one of them was going on about how Omega 3 fatty acids are good for your heart or something

I'm definitely having a lot more fun on my second playthrough than i did first time round. Really is a brilliant game. I can't wait to start the DLC. :)

Aye, the rest of their album is also amazing.

Still no code e-mail for me though, good job I've got Starcraft II to play.
