What bit have you got up to so far? Also, does anyone know what difficulty the DLC is? I didn't notice any options at change the difficulty or anything, when booting up the DLC.

I'm really not very far in, got a pasting in that little bit after you cross the broken street. Not sure about the difficulty thing, at first I thought it defaulted to whatever difficulty you played the main game on but since I played on Normal, I'm not so sure.

Even though it is a lot more action packed at times, it is pretty good fun. I'm not sure but after completing the main game on Nightmare shortly before playing the Signal, it sometimes feels a little easier - like that heft Taken was a pain in the ass to take down on Nightmare but not so much so during The Signal.

I'm playing the main story again before I can download the DLC, it's just really good. In many ways.

Didn't like the DLC, the open area's and not knowing when the taken have finished fighting you [via the oul slow mo jobbee and music dying down] was really annoying! :x

What the strawberry float is with the TV "fight" at what I hope is the end of The Signal? It's awful, so much so that I really don't want to go back and try it again.

I'm guessing that means you didn't really enjoy The Signal, 47? :(

Not sure how I feel about the DLC.

I enjoyed it for the most part, although I had the same problem Photek had with the enemies. atThe game doesn't give you much of a chance and it's annoying. Not really sure why they changed that mechanic. It makes it harder but only because it's more unfair.

The final bit towards the end I struggled with, took me 4 or 5 attempts. Could have done with a few flare guns.

I think my main problem with it was that it felt like an excuse to add another level rather than an opportunity to carry on the story.

Just a quick one, does the normal edition come with the DLC? As I got a copy in CEX...and lo! Out plopped a DLC card. Result!

Yes they do. They wanted to reward the people who bought the game new and not 'pre-owned'

If they didn't then they don't deserve the DLC!

Yes I did, what with the light taking forever to pierce the shields of the TVs and the constant barrage coming from both Taken and possessed objects.

Not a bit of it, it just doesn't feel anything like Alan Wake. Considering the combat is one of the biggest complaints from many people in the original game, I'm baffled by Remedy's decision to basically make the entire episode about said combat.

Perhaps the ending makes up for it, but I won't know that until I get past this bloody awful battle. :x

Just use the flaregun and flares, the battle will be over in less than 30 seconds

That's exactly what I did. There's even an achievement for beating it in less than 1 minute 30.

I managed to get there with no ammo for my flare gun and only a couple of flares :fp:

I had plenty of flares but no ammo for the flare gun, it really shouldn't be this much hassle if you don't have the flare gun (frankly, it feels like a tacked on boss fight where it really wasn't needed). I just don't understand what the guys at Remedy were thinking when they decided to make the DLC an all-out war against the strawberry floating Taken!

The first time I did it I didn't have the flare gun either and did it first try.

You're obviously a better player than I am, then.

Personally, I just hope Remedy does a better job on The Writer because The Signal is a major disappointment - it really is nothing like Alan Wake.

This is the first 360 game I've played in 2 years and it feels really refreshing returning to the console, and I couldn't have chosen a better game. This is so good. Reeks of quality and is stunning.
