I just don't understand what the guys at Remedy were thinking when they decided to make the DLC an all-out war against the ******* Taken!

The first time I did it I didn't have the flare gun either and did it first try.

I found it easy enough, but too short and i would feel cheated if i spent 560 points on it.

**Runs in Avoiding Signal Soilers**

Well that's the main game down - will get the The Signal Soon.

Overall I like it - but I think that was more for the story than the gameplay - genenuiely compelling. I had a daft grin of my face from the end of CHapter 4 to end of Chapter 5 where everything eas explained..

Of course then Chapter 6 came along, went on far too long and killed my enjoyment. Just when it looked like it was spicing things up by finally changing the formula, the game ended

The gameplay was pretty poor, but the atmosphere made up for it in most cases (especially when it kep changing). I really loved pretty much all off Chapter 5. Mostly the challenge seemed to come from poor gameplay mechanics. Most of the time when I died I felt cheated/hard done by, not because the game "out played" me (if you see what I mean).

While I ended up loving most of the characters, the one (and possibly most important) weak spot was Alex - which is a shame, because so much depends on her fate. She was a weak paper thin character that was only there to further the plot. Pretty much the same as Nightingale (although maybe some manuscript pages fix him).

Which brings me to the second main fault - I loved the manuscript pages. They massively enhance the plot. But I certainly won't play through it again on Nightmare to see them all - to me, the game was a wodnerful journey, but the gameplay isn't strong enough to support multiple playthroughs. I also missed a couple, and it often broke the flow of the game up to try and search every nook and cranny in case I missed one (although the vast majoirty seem to be on the main path).

Not sure I got the ending....

So Alan/Alex switch places...but at the beginning - so Alex emerged 7 days later (for Deerfest) and everything's fine in the town? None of it happened? That's what I took by the comments about "balance"

Not sure I liked it - didn't really get why putting the clicker in her heart hole banished Jagger either...seemed a bit easy...

What was the point of "Mr Scratch" if Alex surfaced alone? What happened to Sarah/Barry/Lamp lady?

Thomas was Alan's dad then?

Maybe it would be a bit more final if they didn't know there was 2 DLC episodes coming.
Onto the signal soon.

No to much of your ending stuff, I think. The Signal clears up a lot.

What I got from it is that he wrote Alan Wake into existence, and Alan Wake wrote him into existence. Very odd anyway.
Didn't have a clue what the whole 'Alan is actually scared of the dark, not Alice' thing was about, or if it had any reason to be in there.

My main issue with Alan Wake was that it was far too samey. Played 20 minutes of The Signal yesterday and they didn't really try all that hard did they.

I've been kind of enjoying the game, but after finishing episode 2 I found myself putting off continuing. I just didn't feel like going back into those oppressive woods again.

Then I started playing episode 3 last night. I thought I'd play it for an hour, then watch an episode of The Wire before going to bed. Somehow I got completely hooked, and didn't want to stop playing. The Wire was forfeit, and I went straight through to the end of episode 3.

I actually preferred the daylight areas of Alan Wake, far less oppressive

They make for a welcome bit of relief, while they last.

Just got to the garden maze. A strawberry floating maze? Seriously?

EDIT: Just done the rock concert section, and that was goddamn immense.

Just done the whole of episode 4 in one go. I kept telling myself, I'll take a break at the next checkpoint. Couldn't leave it. This game has well and truly got me.

I know the game really draws you in doesn't it? It's like... It's like a really good book you can't put down.

Actually, funnily enough, your avatar (rinks) looks like someone taken over by the darkness.

That was what I found about the game too. Once I got hold of it, I couldn't leave it even if I wanted to. Basically did it all in 2 sessions

Well, I was quite enjoying the Signal. Was actually thinking it was quite ace.

However, encoutering the same strawberry floating game-breaking glitch three times in a row has soured me somewhat.

This was me last night, minus The Wire and finishing Chapter 3!

The first chapters really haven't much for me. It picked up a little at the end of two but 3 has brought me back in

The man hunt has been the definite highlight so far. I don't think it worked quite aswell as I would have liked. The helicopter was wasted for example. I wanted it to circle above with it's spotlight trying to find me. It's all a bit too linear for that to work. If anything I now want a game where I'm on the run

I still think the voice acting is absolute bullshine and the forest is far to over used but I'm actually liking what is happening now

What glitch? I didn't come across one myself. I enjoyed the Signal - I had to pay for it, but then I didn't pay for the game, so it's all good.

I'm just advancing through a foresty bit (where strawberry floating swarms of the speedy ghost like taken come after you) and once I pass a certain point the whole thing just freezes and borks to strawberry float. Screenfuls of broken graphics or the screen just goes one horrible colour. Can't even quit back to dashboard, have to reset the whole system.

Hmm.....

Have you tried starting the chapter again? As annoying as it is, that might be what you have to do. I did a quick search for glitches in the DLC and whilst a few people have had some glitch or another, it all seems to be in different places

Might be worth trying to download it again, in case there's something corrupted in your original download.
