I didn't rate the Thee Oh Sees album before but I enjoy it (although it comes up by accident on a play list more than by design). I like his voice. Quirky. There is a nice familiarity about the music and it's easy to get into.

7/10.

Oh wow! Look what I found! An Album Club Thread! What a cool idea. :shifty:

I wonder how many people are in it? Oh, quite a few. I wonder what they think of all the albums that other members have suggested they listen to?

Oh, they think strawberry float all of them by the looks of it. That's a shame.

I know. I'm quite gutted too, it's a great idea for a topic and should be a source of some interesting banter. Sadly most people just don't seem to want to give up a couple of hours to make it work. Even Spindash himself seems content to let this topic die now, which is a shame. Especially since I had an absoloute ripsnorter of an album to share with y'all. :(

Do you think if we keep bumping it someone might notice.....

Any chance of uploading the album to a different host? Bit hard to rate the whole album off a few songs

Bran Van 3000 - Glee

S'alright I suppose, not really my kind of thing and it was a bit too long.

Cheers.

I think I'll give this album a 7. I actually liked it quite a bit, its the sort of music my friends tend to listen to, that I enjoy, but never actually bother getting into myself. Couple of duff songs in there I thought but guess that happens with most albums.

Grooveshark is cool. Didn't know about it until MHTL linked it. Nice one.

Ok, I don't know how niche this is (was tempted to just do the white album or something).
But my choice is The Futureheads' first album:
The Futureheads
Image
I chose this as I like the speed and punchiness of the album. Some great harmonies too. They also sing in north-eastern (mackem) accents 8-)
Free publicity for them as they are releasing their fifth album soon :shifty: (it is apparently completely acapella  )

Tracklist:
"Le Garage" – 1:45
"Robot" – 2:00
"A to B" – 2:27
"Decent Days and Nights" – 2:31
"Meantime" – 2:50
"Alms" – 2:05
"Danger of the Water" – 2:57
"Carnival Kids" – 2:44
"The City Is Here for You to Use" – 2:35
"First Day" – 2:04
"He Knows" – 3:13
"Stupid and Shallow" – 1:34
"Trying Not to Think About Time" – 2:24
"Hounds of Love" (Kate Bush) – 3:02
"Man Ray" – 2:18

Please consider buying it:

I don't actually take part in this, but did you see The Futureheads at the Empire about a year or so ago, Turboman?

Any gamer will recognise them from Burnout 3 as well. Decent Days and Nights was a great track to crash and wreck about in. So much so, I daren't listen to it when driving... just in case I slip back into habits.

I did wonder why I wasn't going any faster on the right hand side of the road.

The Futureheads - The Futureheads: 4/10

Really not my kind of music. Boring, not much happening or particularly memorable. Wouldn't even have it on in the background I'm sorry to say :(
