I'm fairly sure the only thing I have from this year is Unleash the Archers - Abyss. Good album, not better than the previous one though.

You're welcome dude. Your list seems like it might be a bit outside my wheelhouse (my tastes are fairly narrow these days) but I'll investigate anyway, as I will with all suggestions on here.

I think my taste in music must be in some kind of strange place between mainstream and slightly obscure as nearly everything everyone has mentioned has either been far too poppy or stuff I've never heard of.

I basically can't find any new music that I actually like that isn't by bands/artists that were around before 2005.

i have unfortunately been afflicted by the 'too much working' bug and that means less time to branch out and look for new music. i get recommended and hear about stuff im already in mind of so it means ive basically only listened to hip-hop this year :(

Freak Scene is over 30 years old and it's still one of the freshest things I've ever heard. It's a masterpiece.

@Ironhide Jamiroquai, he still making music? I thought he faded away from his peak in the late 90's is his newer stuff worth checking out?

Only new albums i have listened too this year are both Taylor Swift's albums and Dua Lipa's good songs on those albums

Not listened to anywhere near as much new music as I ought to have this year, mostly been listening to these on repeat -

Albums -
Kacy Hill - Is It Selfish If We Talk About Me Again
Enter Shikari - Nothing Is True and Everything Is Possible

EPs -
Christina and the Queens - La vita nuova
The Japanese House - Chewing Cotton Wool

Notable appearances from Haim, MUNA and Charlie XCX.
Some stuff from last year like The Japanese House - Good At Falling and Periphery IV: Hail Stan.

Corazon de Leon

Christ I've been listening to the same 100-or-so songs from 2018 and 2019 on repeat all the way through the year and haven't even gone looking for new stuff. Shame on me, will need to rectify that before the end of the month.

I've not been massively keen on their newer output as it seems to have become a lot more disco-funk flavoured (Dynamite and Rock Dust Light Star in particular) but the last album Automaton was pretty good, far closer to the late 90's Jamiroquai sound but nothing like the first two albums (no didgeridoo weirdness sadly).
