Ah well. Was to be expected. Big name is more important to most than quality.

Maybe we will now get a sequel where a third team comes in to investigate what happened to the second team.

The real disappointment is that this kind of thing will allow Randy 'you can trust me ' Pitchford to clown about claiming the game was a commercial success. Looks like he'll get away with it - again. :|

I'd prefer a "prequel 1.5 redux" in which we allow ourselves to postulate what might happen to the first team. I envisage an eclectic melange of dream-like sequences interspersed with ribald dialogue.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

Doubt it. Yes, it's the biggest launch of the year so far. But, it sold less than AVP 2010. And the sales for this title are going to be heavily front loaded, a couple of weeks from now it's going to be in bargain bins.

All the sales prove is that people like Aliens, we all knew that anyway.

O'Neal is strawberry floating useless :fp:

One section he completely vanishes on me, leaving me to take on a swarm of Weyland mercs (Who now seem to be very accurate with their guns :slol: ) and re-appeared at the end of the section at the elevator :fp: he just magically teleported to the strawberry floating elevator ffs :slol:

You could be talking about both the plot and the dev team, or was that the joke?
I also had that O'Neal joker teleport in front of me too. Cool trick.

I going to wait for the third game where a forth team tries to work out what happened to the third team.

That's video gamers for you. Always diving in head first before giving any thought as to what lay on the other side.

Also proves that reviews are pretty much a complete waste of time. Even posters here who knew it was utter gooseberry fool still went and bought it. :fp:

Decided to finally take a look at the dx11 version of AVP 2010, had it on steam since it came with a card but never tried it. Looks really nice and the marines campaign will do nicely as this turned out bad.

Actually from what I recall the first mission in the colony was the bit that felt most like the films so might just play that.

For some, yeah. I never buy a game without reading/watching a review on it though. Not everyone is hellbent on being an awful consumer.

I think you can judge a game without reading a review if you watch enough gameplay/previews.

Why are people still playing/talking about this game? Is the February drought that bad or something?

Unless of course those previews are not representative of the finished product, as was the case here.
