Does anyone know if Marvel still plan to run the Dark Ages story they teased last year?

There's been no news about it and Tom Taylor is now doing Nightwing and a Batman book at DC. Outlook does not look good.

I really liked that first Nightwing issue though.

That’s a shame, I liked the idea of it, looked like it could be something decent.

I’ve not been keeping up with DC stuff, would be interested if they brought DC Universe sub over here.

The Inferno Omnibus has arrived and it's a big one. Rapidly running out of space on my X-Men shelf.

That group of 6 in the middle are Clone Saga 1 and 2, Ben Reilly 1 and 2 and JMS's run 1 and 2. Took like a year for Amazon to send me the second JMS. The two on the left are Stan Lee.

I've completely run out of space on the Spider-Man shelf and got Spencer's run and some Venom stuff on the other side of the room.

Ah, I want the Clone Saga stuff but think I missed the initial print run, nice pick up!

(SPEED EDIT: I actually really want all six of those, I've got most of the JMS/JRJR run in trades but the omnibus collection looks mint!)

Also, recently binged through all of Spencer's run on MU and thoroughly enjoyed it (apart from the weird Harry retcon but as I'm a few months behind I dunno if they've explained that or not). Would be very interested in picking up the trades, but I have no space of my own!

The JMS omnibuses are really nice but there are some well documented story lows in there. Overall though those two collections are great comics.

The Harry stuff in Spencer's run is still to be explained.

I think it's going to be that when Mephisto changed time to erase the Parker marriage it resulted in two Harrys- the Kindred one who became in a demon in hell and the one we've seen since BND who'd recently got back together with Liz Allen and who Kindred has presumably murdered off-page.

I really like the early JMS run on Amazing, probably up until the end of the Spider-Totem arc

I’m still going through 2013/2014 Marvel stuff at the moment, last read the first 11 issues of Fraction’s Hawkeye book and its great stuff

Read the new Alien No.1 from Marvel.

First time I’ve ever started reading a series like this, so will be an interesting new experience, not sure how long I stick with it as I’m not a huge fan of comics at the best of times and paying every week or month like this adds up.

As for the comic itself, it was ok. The art is nothing to write home about, even compared to all the other Alien comics I’ve read, it feels a bit generic. Vaguely interesting opener for the story with some of the tropes of the franchise and a peak at something different. Too early to judge but I’ll keep on it for now.

The artist is a known tracer, it's a shame they gave him the book.

Instead of drawing original artwork for books, he will trace other people's or actual photos.

:?
So why is he listed as the artist as opposed to the people actually doing it.

Isn't tracing reference photos pretty routine though?

I think there's a distinction between using references and actual tracing. If you're hired to draw a Star Wars comic and you're literally tracing over screenshots from the movies, you're not actually contributing anything.

That was my understanding of what I’ve read so far, though I’m not sure if nu-Harry is dead? MJ makes a specific point when she meets him that she saw Harry recently and he certainly wasn’t a demonic mental case.

I was a fan of the JMS/JRJR run, I know there were a few duffers but it was nice to see them playing with some new stuff, and I enjoyed the addition of Ezekiel and the Spider-Totem weirdness. I don’t know if I’m in the minority there though! :slol:

It’s been interesting to see some of the call-backs in Nick Spencer’s run, and I wonder if he isn’t moving towards a status-quo similar to what JMS had in place(Peter and MJ together, May being ITK).

There's an issue where Carly runs the DNA of an unidentified corpse in the morgue and immediately tries to call MJ in horror when she realises who it is. She's attacked by Kindred before speaking to MJ but presumably it's someone they both know. Realistically that's either Harry or Peter.

I see Romita Jr is heading back to Marvel, can’t say I’m a massive fan of his but i don’t not like his art.

Also, I didn’t realise Bendis was dropped from his exclusive deal at DC so he can work where he wants, guess Marvel wouldn’t want to get him back in the fold again though
