It will probably come back but it's never going to make 108 issues.

1. Buy the Grant Morrison Action Comics omnibus from Forbidden Planet.
2. Contact Support because DC are recalling the whole print run because of misprints.
3. Get sent the same misprinted version again.

Hickman's going but Krakoa (for now at least) isn't.

Anyone else read Batman '89 #1? Without spoiling anything, the portrayal of Harvey Dent as a black man (as he was played by Billy Dee Williams in the movie) lends itself to fascinating new aspects of duality that I haven't seen explored before.

Sounds like Hickman is still going to be working with Marvel and not leaving completely. What could he work on next, he has done FF, Avengers and X-Men….what’s next?

The biggest thing he's not done is Spider-Man. Which coincidentally is about to start a fill-in Ben Reilly arc with multiple writers.

My hope is Hickman goes back to X-Men when they want to progress to Act 2 of his story.

I like Hickman's writing with X-Men and have followed him for ages, but I don't think he'd be a fantastic fit for Spider-Man. Wonder what they're moving him on to.

Seen it suggested he takes on the supernatural side of Marvel, that could be a good fit and if anyone can elevate that side of Marvel to the heights of X-Men/FF it would be Hickman

I sometimes wish my first impression of Hickman wasn't his notes section for The Nightly News TPB.

60 - Victims of viral ideas revert to a type of human behaviour tolerated in the West only before the Age of Reason. It reeks of apocalyptic religious intolerance. The man-made global warming crowd is a good example of this. After every tornado, hurricane, drought or snowstorm: They point to the sky and say it's a sign... these are the end times, our last days. Heretics be damned, for our cause is righteous and salvation only comes from repentance and the changing of your ways! These people may be right, but their behaviour marks them as Jesuits all.

62 - On originality. I'm so bored with the attempt by individuals to distinguish themselves from others by 'difference branding'. You got a new tattoo, how original. Oh, a new piercing - You. strawberry floating. Rebel.

:fp:

A lot of the edgy stuff in literature and films from the 2000s has aged so strawberry floating poorly.

Can anyone recommend some good classic Batman stories? Preferably ones that feature lots of detective aspects

Cool, thanks for that, got both of those!

What about classic Spidey runs? I’ve fell off reading current era continuous stories and rather just read short runs/stories that are highly regarded. Ones I have lined up are

Kraven s Last Hunt
Todd Macfarlanes run on Amazing and the self titled series starting with Torment
Venom/Carnage debuts

So Amazing Spider-Man #74. Kindred ends!

And that's it. They literally just "End" - Mephisto stops stops blocking their regeneration and it's over.

While it's nice Sins Past is "gone", in the end Kindred felt like years of build up to a damp ending. Teases abound, and expectations were high. To be fair they could probably never be met - but this felt like a bad version of it.

'Harry' was just a clone (gonna need to think how that fits in). Mephisto reveals, kind of, why he's been involved in Peter/MJ's life. The fight is XX pages, but whomever is winning depends on who needs to do so narratively. It didn't really feel like an "epic" fight, just lots of punch panels

Kraven's Last Hunt is good. Micheline's run is one of my favourites.

Maybe this is controversial of me but I don't think there are actually that many great Spider-Man stories you can pick out and read in isolation. I love Bendis' Ultimate Spider-Man but you really need to read all of it, you can't just isolate a story.

I know what you mean, I think it’s better to read a run on a Spidey book rather than pick out individual stories. They tend to have plot hooks from other stories that makes it harder to read as a stand alone

Download Batman White Knight as well as I heard good things

White Knight is different - and was mostly favourably recevied as a "What if" type story. If you don't like it though you will hate it. There's no halfway from what I recall.

The biggest problem IIRC is that "what if Joker was cured" side of the story is ok, but then it muddles it with "and also Batman's a bit of an asshat" so it doesn't feel like a legimate exploration of the Joker being cured as there's OoC Batman stomping around,
