Is Spider-Man: Life Story worth checking out then? I might have to give it a look.

My copy of the first Claremont Uncanny X-men omnibus has arrived. I was beginning to think that it didn't exist.

It's highly acclaimed. I should probably read it too, it's been on my shelf for weeks.

Saw on Twitter that Gillen and Ribic are on the new Eternals series out in November.

That does sound good but I thought Gillen was being lined up for a Mr Sinister book.

At least this won't be anywhere near as overbearingly smug as him writing Sinister.

It doesn’t go in depth on anything so there’s not really are strong compelling narrative but I was intrigued just by the idea of it and seeing Spiderman through the ages. Worth it for that alone.

I guess corona changed the contents of Dawn of X #7. Every site is claiming there are only four issues in it but my copy has six - two of which are Excalibur and there isn't any X-Force.

DC Universe Online launches Summer 2021.

I used to love Superman and the pantheon of DC comics but I got older, they got expensive and they take up so much space. So the day I've been waiting for has finally arrived, DC's digital subscription service is relaunching as DC Universe Infinite early next year and will be getting an international release in Summer 2021. This is happening because the TV/movie content with complicated licensing is moving to HBO Max. I bought a 12.9" iPad Pro partly for reading magazines and comics which look phenomenal on it. So many stories to dive into, my only worry is that I've grown too far apart from them.

Calling all comic book fans to Explore the Multiverse! DC today announced the evolution of DC UNIVERSE into DC UNIVERSE INFINITE, a premium digital comic book service set to launch on January 21, 2021. With access to more than 24,000 comic books at launch, DC UNIVERSE INFINITE subscribers will also encounter digital-first comics, exclusive access to DC fan events, as well as a steady stream of recently released comics six months after the physical versions hit store shelves. Following its initial launch, DC UNIVERSE INFINITE will begin expanding globally in SUMMER 2021.

“Our fans love the platform’s robust library of comic books and, with the transformation, we will not disappoint,” said DC Publisher and Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee. “I’m excited to share that not only will DC UNIVERSE INFINITE members still be able to read all of the great comics that they’ve enjoyed but new issues are debuting on the platform quicker than before, digital first exclusives are being created, and the members-only events will begin as soon as possible. There has never been a better time to be a DC fan!”

I was into buying comics back in the 90s and I've gradually grown to the idea of trying online reading. I do like the idea of reading comics on my tablet and I would like to give it a trial; in my mind the services aren't particularly accessible or reliable but maybe that thought is outdated?

I’ve used Marvel Unlimited a few times and it works really well, I read on a tablet and it’s got so much stuff to read.

Also take a look at Comixology, they have lots of great stuff and have really good sales.

I haven't used Marvel Unlimited or Comixology like Milner but I have read comic samples in the Kindle or Apple books app and the images are just so vivid. The thing to know is if you have a smaller tablet screen than you might be zooming in and out a lot to view a full page, although the inbuilt software is clever in jumping from one frame to another if you want and filling the screen making it easy to read. A laptop could work well too.

I wish Comixology unlimited wasn't restricted to the US.

It's STILL not out over here? That's been years now.

Yep, still only out in the US. I can only imagine it's issues with licensing/distribution with some of the comic publishers outside of the US, because surely Amazon wouldn't want to be leaving money on the table like that.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I'm not looking to sign-up to anything right now but hopefully will take a look in a few months' time. I'll probably be using tablet (iPad mini).

ComiXology has an Image Sci-Fi sale on at the moment.

Was looking at some stuff earlier in the week as I fancied trying out some new comics. Took the plunge on a few different series, Paper Girls, Bitch Planet and Saga.

A massive sale on Marvel classic series on ComiXology now. Over 90% off across a host of series.

I know a lot of it is probably badly dated but I might dip in to see some origins of stuff we see in the films. Anyone got any recommendations?

A lot of the stuff in the films is based on newer runs and I don't think a lot of that old stuff is actually that good, but the early Avengers stuff, Stan Lee & Jack Kirby's Thor and Steve Ditko's Dr Strange are all decent. Chris Claremeont's Uncanny X-Men stuff is good too.
