I see your point Cora, but I have to agree with Mori. The new 52 didn't suddenly make for example Snyder's Detective Comics run or any of the other great DC stories gooseberry fool.

I can understand your disillusionment with the constant events. It's a problem with DC too and it's marvel vs DC trying to maintain their share of the market. When DC started kicking ass every September since the new 52, this was the only response Marvel had.

I'm just interested in how marvel are going to try and market this like it's not a reboot when all signs point towards one. Especially after they've said they would never reboot the MU.

But then again they did also say that if they ever do 616 and ultimate crossover stories then they've officially rut out of ideas

What is the story reason for Cyclop's X-face costume? It's pretty awful.

There was no in-story explanation for it, he just showed up with it in Bendis' Uncanny. I assume the reasoning is that the new visor helps control his broken powers but it was never stated on panel.

Looks incredible. In related Hickman news- FP cancelled my Dark Reign FF trade order because it's out of print.

Could someone tell a noob what Secret Wars is? Haven't they done it before?

Is it just different universes fighting each other?

The original Secret Wars had heroes and villains from the main Marvel universe being teleported to another planet to fight each other. Spider-Man got the symbiote suit during this.

The new Secret Wars is a continuation of Jonathan Hickman's Fantastic Four/Avengers/New Avengers story which has featured the death of universes. That trailer suggests that different universes are fused together to have the inhabitants fight each other.

If Marvel are planning on doing a reboot I hope they don't do anything as stupid as DC did when they killed off the Kents. Above all else it showed a complete lack of understanding about what defined the character. You need to have Clarks interactions with his parents in order to understand what makes him tick. Removing that from the New 52 was utterly moronic.

Eurgh. I hate reboots. One of the big attractions of comics for me is the big inter connectivity of the shared universe and history.

It seems most of the problems with that format is either poor/lazy writers and/or editors.
