Been ages since I read it but wasn't the pilot basically a scene-for-scene recreation of the first issue? got bored of it after the first few series.

Cheers guys! I've read The Nightly News which I thought was decent so I'll check that all out. Both The Avengers and New Avengers runs seem to run out around that 8 Months mark so is there much point getting Secret Wars until I can find that?

Definitely don't read Secret Wars until you finish Avengers/New Avengers. It's basically one run starting from Fantastic Four and ending with Secret Wars.

I'm not sure why they they are like this but Avengers:Time Runs Out volumes 1-4 are the books you want.

Oh of course, yes you're right. Act 3 of the run (Times Runs Out), you had to alternate between issues of Avengers/New Avengers and Marvel collected them in order for the trades.

Cool, that's each and every Hickman Fantastic Four & Avengers trade bought along with the newest Black Panther. £70 is the most I've spent on comics in one go for an extremely long time. :dread:

I also bought X-Men Days of Future Past because I always heard good things, any other good short classic Marvel series worth a look?

There aren't many short runs I can think of. Did you ever read Alias? That's only about twelves issues and I like it a lot.

The Brubaker/Fraction Immortal Iron Fist run (#1-16) is also good.

Tom King's 12 issue Vision run is supposed to be really good but I haven't read it so can't confirm.

X-Men: God Loves, Man Kills (graphic novel that X-Men 2 was loosely based on)
Paul Jenkins' Inhumans (12 issue mini series, fantastic political thriller)
Warren Ellis' Moon Knight vol 1 vol 2 (12 issue mini series and each issue is relatively self-contained)
Since you're interested in Hickman's stuff and Secret Wars I'd recommend two of the tie-in series Thors and Siege. They were the only meaningful tie-ins for that event that had an effect on the story and each is just 4 issues long.
Matt Fraction's Future Foundation was awesome too but the first four issues are in this Fantastic Four volume for some weird reason. It says in the listing that just has the first two issues of FF but I'm sure it has the third one too? Not 100% sure though but I could check since I've got it on Comixology.

First volume of Alias is actually free with Prime now so I'll give that a read.

Cheers Maf, I've gone with God Loves, Man Kills, which also reminded me to finally read The Dark Phoenix Saga. Might also check out Inhumans.

Hawkeye (2012-2015) for £9.61 has to be a good shout...

I think the best thing Marvel have put out in recent years is Tom King's The Vision. Two TPBs and a very good story.

DC has pre-announced spoilers to the media for the new issue of Batman.

Bruce apparently proposes to Selina.

I hope they actually go through with this, it's a nice status quo change. Somewhat out of the blue though as they haven't actually been in a relationship for like ten years.

I thought DC didn't like their main heroes being happy and in relationships?

Editorial have apparently changed their minds since being criticised for breaking up Batwoman and Maggie Sawyer's engagement. Not that Kate should be with Sawyer anyway when Renee Montoya exists.

Aquaman and Mera are getting married again, Superman and Lois are married with a son. It's going to be weird to see Batman married when Marvel won't let Spider-Man be.

Even though the Kindle sale is finished, I'm still looking through Marvel stuff and a lot of it is still substantially cheaper than buying directly from Comixology. Stuff like the Black Panther complete collections can be bought for a tenner cheaper and there's stuff on my Amazon wishlist that doesn't seem to have gone up in price (Thor: Godess of Thunder volume 1 is still £3.60). It makes the Comixology sales look pretty sneaky, can't see me buying anything other than single issues I'm subscribed to from there directly in the future if the price differences are always like this.

Does anyone read Gwenpool? Bought it on a whim since I got a 15% Comixology code and it's strawberry floating brilliant.

Just a heads up but it looks like Amazon are having another big Marval discount at the moment.
