Well that was to be expected. Secret Invasion/Siege/Dark Reign/Avengers Dissembled this week I think. All "recent" and all Bendis related. Or maybe a Spidey one thrown in there for good measure.

That was one of my worries with whatever is happening next year, that to make up for no 616 Wolverine we just get loads of alt-universe ones :fp: :fp:

Anyone seen the daredevil/superior iron man big spoiler? Do people want me to post it?

Possibly Clone Saga for Spider-Man?

Also, I've seen the spoiler. Maybe put it in a spoiler box or something.

Daredevil spoilers:

Superior Tony gives Matt his vision back against his wishes.

Pretty big dick move

Batman and Robin #38/new Robin spoilers:

Looks like not only is Damian back (the actual one or clone?) he's now bullet/death proof?

Also apparently DC are asking all their creators to wrap up their storylines early before the "band-aid" / "no longer called blood moon" event in march/april. Last time DC asked this? Before Flashpoint. Could just be because there moving everything to Burbank though.

DC's January solicitations.

Thoughts:

So yeah Damian has superpowers. So is it the main Damian or another clone? Is this the one that becomes Heretic in 5 years time shown in the Future's End book?

The Superman $4.99 issue :dread: "Romita Jr draws Batman!" is this really a selling point?

Looks like Marvel's full ones will be out later today, some parts have already been revealed by various websites. Loved this from Rich's article:

Anyway, courtesy of CBR, Newsarama, Comicbook.com and whoever else Marvel is friendly with today here’s a look at January 2015′s Marvel solicitations so far. A new year!

In all fairness Rich Johnston comes across a right walloper, I'm not especially surprised that Marvel's writers aren't huge fans. Then again, Brevoort and Slott in particular don't seem like nice folks.

EDIT: Spider-Verse Team up 3 - the mystery Spider NEEDS to be Ben Reilly. How can they do the Spider-Verse storyline without Ben Reilly? It would fit in with May Parker's universe as well - the chance to go on an adventure with her own version of Uncle Ben, one of the men who inspired her and whose suit she wears, etc etc.

Who is the Nova family? Actually have they said in new Nova how the Novaforce returned, if it did? I thought Rich Rider took it all into the Cancerverse?

Avengers #38 has got a new (amazing) cover:

Full Marvel Jan solicitations. Just started reading it through, impressions to follow.

New Avengers #29 cover

oh hello Beyonder, what convenient timing with Secret Wars on the horizon. Hopefully Hickman will fix the damage done by Bendis in that awful Illuminati issue :dread:

All New Ultimates is finishing in Jan with #12 (pretty sure BC called that) so that's 1 Ultimate title left. And I don't think Miles is gona be left in the Ultimate Universe much longer.

Looks like Soule's She Hulk is ending. But says Jen has a new adventure, so moving to another team or a soft "reboot" to signal the end of Soule's run? That's She Hulk and Red Lanterns he's dropping soon. Spose he has to concentrate on the Wolverines weekly.

Just noticed Avengers World is missing from those solicitations, but apparently it isn't cancelled just skipping Jan.

Just noticed the Wolverines price, $3.99 for a weekly title :dread: :dread:

Quite a few $4.99 titles there as well :dread: :dread: :dread:

Earth 2 World's End #3
New 52 Futures End #25

Well more on this:

Yesterday, I ran the story that DC Comics were asking creators to bring their story lines to an end before what we have dubbed the Band-Aid event in April 2015.

This was similar to instructions given to comic book creators before the New 52 reboot back in 2011. Will there be another reboot in May or June?

No. Instead, creators are being asked to submit pitches that are ‘daring’ and to employ ‘ blue sky thinking’. Impressed by the commercial success of Harley Quinn and Batgirl, and critical sucess of Gotham Academy, the beancounters have been persuaded that a little more individual thinking might reap benefits. Indeed, those books may have been part of an early attempt to mix things up and see what happened. And creators, used to having to present certain kinds of stories to the bosses under certain criteria, expecting to see the edges knocked off, are being asked to let loose in a similar manner.

This is, of course the way it always should be. But an attempt to replicate success by siply copying successes has let to an attrition of interest in the books, and a de facto house style across much of the New 52. Harley Quinn changed that, by unexpectedly staying in the top ten, month in month out, and outselling the Xbooks. The new Batgirl, pushed through by Bateditor Mark Doyle, has done the same. This is an attempt to do something different by, well, encouraging people to do something different. Some will crash and burn. Some will soar. But at least people will try.

This is probably the best news I’ve heard coming out of DC for some time. Folk are giddy. Expect new books and newly reinvented books in 2015. And, hopefully, not just everyone in yellow Doc Martens boots…

seems a bit early to start copying new batgirl since simone left or gotham academy, don't they have like one issue out?

The main thing to take from this is whether DC's famous editorial interference will still be a thing. That was the main problem.

It's really good up until the arc where they go into the space, I dunno why but any X-Men story involving them going into space usually bores me to tears.

Comics are later collected in trade paperbacks or hardbacks.

So apparently seven months later Cyclops is in control of the "X-Nation" which is untouchable from Avenger interference.

I'm guessing it's in Genosha.

Marvel will usually release a book in trade around two months or so after all the singles have released.

I'm halfway through Axis 3 having already read Deadpool and I just realised that Kid Apocalypse is in there for when the axis inversion happens at the end of the issue. Shiiiii-

EDIT: Sometimes I'm reminded why I love Deadpool so damn much, and Axis 3 is a damn good example.
