Thanks for the tip. Are there any codes or new customer offers on at the moment? I'd like to pick up HoX/PoX hardcover on release.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Is NOVEMBER19 still working? Supposedly despite the name it expires in a few weeks.

I pretty much exclusively buy my omnibuses from Speedyhen- got a Y:The Last Man omnibus coming this month.

No, expired. :(

It's still cheaper than Amazon by a few quid though.

Try DECEMBER19. They don't do it every month but they've had these 10% off codes two months in a row and I'd be surprised if they skip Xmas.

Nope :( I am faced with the horror of paying full price for a book I was going to buy anyway.

Comixology? If you don't mind digital.

They do insane sales regularly. And "buy instantly" is really dangerous (I had to turn it off)

I've read it digitally, I enjoyed it enough to want a nice hardcover version. I'm happy to pay the price for it, just felt like chancing for a cheeky discount.

Been reading through Rick Remender’s Venom run and really enjoying it. It dropped during the Circle of Four storyline but it’s picked back up with the Savage Six stuff. Also read through Spider-Men tonight, it was pretty good, nothing amazing but it was cool seeing the interactions between Peter and the Ultimate cast.

Going to try the first Carol Danvers Captain Marvel series in a bit (reading all this on Marvel Unlimited)

Been on a big Aliens media binge throughout December, which has seen me dive into several of the Comics having researched for the best ones. I’ve never really thought comics were for me and though a few of these have been enjoyable enough they’ve on the whole not changed my mind. I just find the story telling lacking and most of these boils down to just ‘Aliens strawberry float people up’, and these are supposed to be the best from 30 years of story telling I find it a bit lacklustre. I’ve generally preferred the ones I’ve read in Digital format so maybe if I do stick with it I should focus on that.

Anyway here’s what I’ve read in the past few weeks and some rankings

Aliens Outbreak: ***
Aliens Labyrinth: ****
Aliens Prometheus Fire and Stone: **
Aliens Fire and Stone: ***
Aliens vs Predator Fire and Stone: ***
Aliens Predator Fire and Stone: ***
Aliens Omega Fire and Stone: **
Aliens Dead Orbit: ***

Time for adventure

Any codes around for Speedyhen. I've got a fair few omnibuses on my wishlist waiting for payday... :shifty:

Much appreciated MM. I've been staring at the New X-Men Omnibus like Charlie Bucket peering through a sweet shop window.

Just went to check the price of a book on Amazon because it's out of stock on Speedyhen and Amazon says I bought it 5 years ago. :dread: Going to look through my bookshelves now because I can't remember this at all.

Grant Morrison's run? Yeah that's been on my wishlist too for ages- it always seems to be out of stock.

Reading the first few issues of the Fraction/Aja Hawkeye series, damn it’s really good. Any other Marvel series like this?

Immortal Iron Fist was from the exact same creative team. Nick Spencer's run on Secret Avengers was similar in tone. Maybe Mark Waid's Daredevil too.

Cheers, I’ve added these to my Marvel Unlimited library.

I've just finished Superior Foes of Spider-Man by Spencer which was great.

Is that the series focusing on villains like Boomerang? It sounded pretty good from what I heard of it.

Yeah that's it. Boomerang, Shocker, Beetle, Overdrive and Speed Demon.

I’ll give it a read, not read any of Spencer’s Marvel stuff yet.

Read the first 4 issues of Waid’s Daredevil, more great stuff from Waid. I like these street-level esq stories, nice change of pace from the big battle team ups.
