I'm doing little upgrades here and there and will buy a new headset in maybe 3 or 4 years.

I'm jealous as hell.

I think my current VR hardware is going to have to cut it for the next year or two at least. Can't afford to upgrade much at the moment and that's not even taking into account the new console hardware appearing later this year.

It was supposed to be my Christmas present

Nice work. I would love to know how many they were able to sell in such a short time.

Apparently there are some people who've managed to get their status as "Processing" which means they may ship immediately. Seem to be US based though so I suspect most allocation went there first.

Paper Beast launches 24 Mar for PSVR.

Eurogamer wrote:Paper Beast, the intriguing, surreal ecosystem sim from Another World and From Dust creator Eric Chahi, will be launching for PlayStation VR on 24th March.

Having read the synopsis and watched the striking release date trailer below, I'm still not entirely sure what Paper Beast actually entails, but it's described as a "dreamlike odyssey" through a "wild simulated ecosystem, born from lost Internet data".

Paper Beast apparently comes in two flavours: there's the more structured Adventure mode, and a freeform experience known, reasonably enough, as Sandbox mode.

Seems like an interesting oddity! It looks pretty smart in the vid.

Edit: Sadly Jenga isn't part of that sidequest hand tracking app. Hope he releases it one day. The guys twitter is full of cool footage of stuff he's worked on.

My Index kit has gone from "Ships in 2-4 weeks" to "Processing" and card has been charged.

I just pray to god they don't ship them via Yodel or Hermes in the UK, or I'll end up waiting another 4 months for the replacement when mine gets stolen/lost/smashed/left in the pouring rain.

My Index Kit has now shipped, though the tracking number doesn't work yet.

Based on what some people on ResetEra have been saying though Valve have been too cheap to pay the extra £3-5 for Saturday courier delivery and deliveries are Monday-Friday only.

First world problems.

I'm nearing the end of HL2 episode 2 now, it's so damn good. Even an old game like that has got such great atmosphere still and the little details really sell the world. Got to white forest base and there's a civilian bullshitting about how he kills hunters with his bare hands and how he's already an expert with the gun he's being shown.

I did the little rocket man achievement while I was at it to add something extra to the play through. It was a pain in the arse at times but funny to finally get to the rocket. I did lock Lamar in too though :(

I had to do that twice.

When I first did it I didn't realise that the Directors Commentary mode disabled achievements. :fp:

Trying to drive that bloody car with the Gnome wedged in and being attacked by that strawberry floating Helicopter

Single Player Sci-Fi VR Shooter Boiling Steel Out Now For PC VR

MiroWin Studio, the developer of the popular Guns’n’Stories: Bulletproof VR, is proud to inform, that their latest VR FPS story-based VR shooter Boiling Steel is released in Steam in full version.
Full release on Oculus store planned on the first half of March 2020.

The story for “Boiling Steel” was written by one of the authors of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series.
According to the plot you’re one of many who set off in search of a better life in the distant bastion of scientific progress. On the colony planet, free from bureaucratic, religious and other radical restrictions they research and freely use industrial teleportation, transfer of consciousness and other technologies prohibited in the inhabited worlds. Factories, power plants, mines and residential complexes of the planet are fully automated. All the dirty and hard work is done by robotic shells controlled by the operator's mind. It is a high-tech paradise. But here, something went wrong...
Reach the final to know what’s happened.

In the full version you’ll find:
- 11 tools, each with unique playstyle, upgrades, and handling, including the stripping cutter and PFG (the tool for the pit-stop refueling of the reactive thrusters of the industrial drones)
- the fisticuffs
- the gravity beam and dynamic objects that can be controlled using this beam.
- more than 40 combat missions equaling over 10 hours of action-packed VR shooting goodness.
- final part with 10 additional maps and not less than 1 hour of gameplay more.
- variety of dynamic interactions with objects
- experienced upgrade system. The more you use a tool, the more powerful it becomes. Be rewarded for sticking with a favorite.
- non-story missions are randomly generated to make each playthrough exciting and unique.
- a wide variety of enemy shells with a multitude of armaments, configurations, and combat style.
- overcome planetary security systems such as automated turrets, minefields, energy barriers, and more with smarts, quick reflexes, and puzzle-solving ability.
- explore cloud-city complexes, frozen structures, sandy mining platforms, and more.

Funnily enough I was just thinking today about what Sci-Fi PC VR games there were, so that definitely sounds like something I need to look at.

My Index Kit arrived this morning, though I won't be able to set it up until tomorrow.

My current list of VR games to either get or that I already own are,

Half Life Alyx
Elite Dangerous
Skyrim VR
Fallout 4 VR
Zone of the Enders 2
Vader Immortal

Any other good PC VR Recommendations?
