I think Qikz has some of the insert lenses and thought quite highly of them. I've been meaning to ask where he got them actually.

Can't say I've ever had an issue using the original Quest with my glasses on, but I suppose the frames are quite flat to the side of my head.
Or is the issue the lenses and the distance in front of your eyes? I know the original quest came with a glasses "spacer" insert that just meant the whole thing sat a little further forward on your face.

I use lens adapters form VR Opticians. They have been excellent. Much comfier than when I was wearing glasses to play and much less pressure on the bridge of the nose etc. They were only about £60 i think.

Now I can't speak about the glasses solution as I don't wear any but if your using the stock strap I'd highly recommend this head strap as it's so much better/comfier. Bought mine from that seller and was fairly quick delivery.

I'd not heard of this and it looks really neat. Puzzling places is coming to PSVR (I assume PS4 and PS5) in "winter".

I have had this downloaded to my Quest for months now and it never gets to the top of my list of things to play. I really must give it a go, the reviews for it are great.

I can confirm that I also bought lens adapters from VR Opticians and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. So much more comfortable and the Quest 2 especially was crushing my glass frames and made it so hard to put on/take off.

Thanks for all the great suggestions :)

Good reviews on the lens inserts then. That might be the long term solution, but seeing as I've already dropped a few hundred on hardware this month I'm thinking I might give the smaller glasses a go before that. Only nine quid and if they don't work then I just have a spare pair of glasses knocking about which is never a bad thing! I also have a pair of prescription swimming goggles so I could give them a try too.

The strap looks good Garly, unfortunately I have a man bun so I need less going on around that portion of my head. I think I've stumbled on a good length for the strap so apart from maybe cable tying a battery pack to the back I might be happy for now.

Will definitely try that puzzle game out. I've been having trouble with a purchase I made though. I bought Bionic Hunter on Tuesday night for 79p as I thought it looked like a decent enough mindless shooter to cut my teeth on. I bought it on the phone app, but it's not showing up on my headset at all. Not really sure what's going on as the phone app looks fully connected to my account. Pain in the arse to raise a ticket for 79p but I'm going to have to :fp:

PSVR 2 controllers revealed! Truly next-gen looking!

Image

Image

Features

The new VR controller enables players to feel and interact with games in a much more visceral way. There are several features, including key features from the DualSense controller, which match our vision for what next-generation VR games can be.

● Adaptive triggers: Each VR controller (Left and Right) includes an adaptive trigger button that adds palpable tension when pressed, similar to what’s found in the DualSense controller. If you’ve played a PS5 game, you’ll be familiar with the tension in the L2 or R2 buttons when you press them, such as when you’re drawing your bow to fire an arrow. When you take that kind of mechanic and apply it to VR, the experience is amplified to the next level.

● Haptic feedback: The new controller will have haptic feedback optimized for its form factor, making every sensation in the game world more impactful, textured and nuanced. When you’re traversing through rocky desert or trading blows in melee combat, you’ll feel the difference, magnifying the extraordinary visual and audio experience that’s so central to VR.

● Finger touch detection: The controller can detect your fingers without any pressing in the areas where you place your thumb, index, or middle fingers. This enables you to make more natural gestures with your hands during gameplay.

● Tracking: The VR controller is tracked by the new VR headset through a tracking ring across the bottom of the controller.

● Action buttons / analog sticks: The Left controller contains one analog stick, the triangle and square buttons, a “grip” button (L1), trigger button (L2) and Create button. The Right controller contains one analog stick, the cross and circle buttons, a “grip” button (R1), trigger button (R2) and Options button. The “grip” button can be used to pick up in-game objects, as one example.

Shame they don't have the index controller wrist strap. Being able to let go of the controller is a great feature.

That's different to the index, the index wraps around your palm.

Ahh ok, I did a quick Google but the few images in the results just looked like ordinary straps (Like on the Quest)

There's also a Go/Gear VR version. If you've bought that version you'll need to get a refund as I don't think there's any way to play that on a Quest 2.

Me not having a gaming/VR PC this looks it will be an incredible leap from PSVR's Move. What I hope it will mean most is that there will also be regular games that you can choose to play in VR mode like NMS and Elder Scrolls VI but that's another thread... It would be great to bring Half-Life: Alyx to the masses too.

The Quest took on a whole new lease of life for me recently when an IRL friend picked one up. We've been playing various games for hours since, in particular Beat Saber, Rec Room and Onward.

He wishes he had bought it a year ago, says he thought I was full of gooseberry fool going on about how good it was but then couldn't believe it when he tried it himself.
