It says to click for their support article but that’s all about the rift and connects very differently from the sound of it. SteamVR also won’t see the headset.

I’ll buy another cable but from the USB test that doesn’t seem the issue. What cables does everyone use?

I think mine is a Belkin one. Can you connect wirelessly or does the initial connection have to be wired? Do you get the allow access to files notification? You would think you're supposed to click allow but you should actually deny.

Oh hang on, you have to deny it access to files for the link to work? Maybe that's where I'm going wrong. I've been giving it access, then after that it pops up asking if I want to Enable Oculus Link, and that's the point it just stops. I get the black screen with 3 dots in the headset and the app is telling me Oculus Link isn't working.

I've not tried Air Link yet, although managed to get the wireless Virtual Desktop working well enough. I have a racing wheel and seat set up in the same room as the PC, but the wifi is terrible in there, so I don't think Air Link or Virtual Desktop would work for trying to play PC racing games in VR.

Mines just an Amazon Basics cable, works great. Oculus seem to love giving me £8 credit every now and again. Nabbed Contractors with this weeks free £8, so £6.99 which isn't bad. They've given me enough over the past year to buy all Vader Immortal games, Dash Dash World and now Contractors :slol:

It seems counterintuitive but the guide I used was quite clear about clicking Deny, dunno why!

Updated my graphics card software, still no link. Out of curiosity, I tried Air Link and got the same thing. Everything finds each other find, but as soon as the 'Link' starts, I just get 3 white dots in the headset and the same errors about it not working correctly on the Oculus App. I guess that confirms it's not the USB cable. Virtual Desktop works flawlessly, so will have to keep digging.

Tried reinstalling the Oculus desktop app?

I'll have a go at that this evening. Edit: Re-installing was a nope.

I guess a different cable is the obvious thing to try, despite the fact Air Link does the same thing suggesting it's nothing to do with the cable. Might see if I can send Oculus support a message. All their online stuff seems to be about the Rift, but the Rift plugs into your graphics card via a display port, right? I don't have USB ports on my graphics card. Just have a bunch of regular USB 3 ports, and I've tried it in them all. Turned power saving off on them etc. Someone on Era suggested using the cable that came with the Quest but that's USB C so that's out too.

On a better note, Virtual Virtual Reality is today's Quest store deal, and well worth checking out for £8. Sort of like a cross between Job Simulator and Portal.

I am deeply puzzled by your predicament. I think Oculus Support is the way to go...

I'm now further into RE 4 than ever before - I've finished Chapter 1.1  . Tried sitting mode today and it made me a bit queasy. Question about the shotgun: how many shells can you load at once? I can only seem to get one shell in at a time which is not much good in a firefight!

Might get Walkabout Mini Golf in the sale. Anyone else played this?

Got it but only played it briefly. It seemed good.

Walkabout Mini Golf is great. I only really got it as I thought it would hit that Wii Sports vibe when showing off the headset to family at Christmas, but I'm still playing it now.

Resident Evil 4 thoughts.

I'm struggling to hit zombies with follow up pistol shots. I'll pop one into their head, then as they stagger around the second shot won't hit them. Are there points in their stagger animation where they don't register hits? I could be missing the target, but I really don't think I am!

The TMP is really hard to control, probably because your hands stay still but the gun kicks up, so you have to spray down to stay on target. I also have an annoying habit of pulling the pin on any grenades I grab out of glass cabinets.

For a sixteen or seventeen year old game it looks really good. I've been ambushed a couple of times by zombies, combined with the immersive view and having to fumble around to reload it gets really tense!

The writing is strawberry floating awful. I don't even think I'm looking at it through a modern lens, this would've been gooseberry fool back then too. This is the first RE game I've really stuck with (ooh two hours get me!) so is that supposed to be part of the charm?

It's brilliant. I've been playing it for the past two hours and it's really fun.

Mini-golf in your house. It's the future.

I'm sure I'd be bricking it playing Resi 4 in VR!

Yeah, I think the "quirky" plot and lines are a part of the series' attraction, Dowbocop.

Oh it's fantastic. I've just played another couple of hours today and I love it. Such a simple game of playing quick rounds of mini golf but it's incredible. I don't think I could play a traditional golf game like Mario or Everybody's Golf ever again. I imagine playing online with friends, watching each other take shots, would be a really great experience.

Looking for the hidden balls is also surprisingly therapeutic (no context) and it's silly how giddy I've gotten over some of the designs.

I highly recommend it to anyone playing VR games.

Tempted to pick up Ultrawings 2 on Quest (2). I had the first one on PSVR and thought it was excellent. I will probably wait for a sale or discount code, but it's right at the top of my list with Resi 4 VR.

Just had a round of mini golf to relax after a bit of housework. Just so relaxing

Would be great if a few of us got the game and played a few holes together.

That would be great, I'm up for that (timings permitting) :)

Had no idea the new Beat Saber update was out, just tried it out. strawberry float me these new songs are hard. And the new chain/arc mechanics look a mess on the screen, especially the chain notes. They just clutter the whole screen and obscure your view of other notes. One of the things I loved about Beat Saber was its simplicity in design but I guess this is the new way forward. Really gonna have to practice these ones it seems.

Moss: Book II launches for PSVR on 31 March :toot: . The first game was excellent - I loved how it felt like you were looking in on cool dioramas - and I'm looking forward to experiencing more of this. I'm gonna dig out my PSVR kit and give the original another go :) .

I've now got my PSVR kit setup (at my desk so not much room...) and am gonna re-visit Moss during this week. Moss: Book II arrives on Thursday!
