I loved the mobile games so that is on my wishlist to get soon.
Just had an hour on Eleven Table Tennis and it's great. So immersive and I'm hoping as I get better it translates over to real life so I can walk into work one day and surprise everyone by beating them at lunch out of nowhere
Already had an accident though. Playing against a real player and I instinctively stretched to make a shot. Stretched much too far though and smacked the controller into a book shelf. It's still working perfectly and only suffered a scuffing along its edges but it's a valuable lesson to stay aware of my surroundings. Normally I'd be devastated that I'd scratched my kit but I'm just thankful nothing broke!
I've been finding a welcome mat in the middle of the room has been amazing for orienting myself but Table Tennis is so immersive it's still easy to forget I'm not completely surrounded by open space.
It was also such a strange feeling seeing a human opponent moving and clapping realistically. Even though it was only a headset and controllers moving around, the movements were human so it felt like I was really in a room with another person playing table tennis. It's so weird.
VR is amazing. Just need to watch out for that IRL shelf next time.
