Its like complaining that you cant run Alyx on a <insert a processor / gpu that is one spec lower than the minimum requirements stated on PC>. Unless thats not a thing - i know nothing about PC's. Its a miracle that I can post this tbh.
I dont think Resi 4 is the game that they would hold its userbase to ransom over. More likely VR Chat / Rec Room or some social shite like that.
I did actually manage to run Alyx on a CPU well below minimum spec.
Definitely wouldn't have complained about that if it didn't work, though, and Valve weren't insisting you run it only on an Index headset, either.
I get what you're saying, but this was originally a PS2/GC title, the Quest could handle a port of it. Even if the end product they've made here couldn't run on the original Quest, it'll be because they've made the decision to have this be one of the first Quest 2 exclusives, to move away from developing software that works on all Quest devices, and worked to that spec.
The fact it's Quest 2 exclusive, and not also on Quest PC for Rift headsets is what convinces me that it's a choice about pushing the platform rather than it being a capability thing as well. There's no reason they couldn't also sell this to PC based users, but they're choosing to make it exclusive to the one headset type.
