I've now got my PSVR kit setup (at my desk so not much room...) and am gonna re-visit Moss during this week. Moss: Book II arrives on Thursday!

Wow, I had no idea it was out so soon. I will certainly pick this up at some point. Maybe I will wait for it to launch on Quest 2. I never finished the first game as had a couple of sesisons in a row where the tracking went really screwy.

As well as Moss: Book II arriving on Thursday, Transformers Beyond Reality is launching on PSVR and Steam VR on the same day!

It's currently boom time for PSVR. Following the arrival this week of Moss: Book II and Transformers: Beyond Reality, it seems that Lucky's Tale will arrive on 7 April.

The 2D version was a cool platformer and it should be good to see this run in VR.

PushSquare really enjoyed Moss: Book II, awarding the game an 8 in their review. I'm hoping to pick up the game after I've played through the excellent original.

My PSVR is setup again! It's at my desk with very little space available but at least I can play DualShock controller-based VR games.

I loaded up Moss and started a fresh game. Man, I'd forgotten just how immersive the VR experience can be; being "in" those diorama scenes is just so good. There are so many lovely touches and even after this initial short return to VR it has firmed up my view that VR is easily the most impressive game tech development that I've experienced in past years. 1080p, 4K, enhanced sound, faster processors... all good stuff but, for me, they don't offer the same level of "wow" like VR has.

That's so weird - I set up my PSVR again today to play Moss as well. I agree with you that VR is just so immersive and it's easy to forget that when you don't play it for a while.

Yep. I really enjoy only playing it sporadically as it means it’s all the more special when returning to it.

Decided to buy oil painting simulator Vermillion for $10 (costs $20, but had a $10 credit that was about to expire). It does what it sets out to quite well, especially given I'm playing the Quest version. Lots of different brushes and tools, and the physicality of it all feels really nice (the bristles bend more the more you push the brush into the canvas, you can get rid of excess paint by rubbing the brush over a piece of cloth, or sloshing it around in the paint thinner and then beating the brush against the easel to get the paint thinner off (or you can just press A)).
Paint on the canvas stays "wet" so it will blend in with whatever fresh paint you put on there if you're not careful. Just like with real painting it pays to be mindful of what you're doing and have some idea of the final result you're going for.
And while it captures the traditional painting experience quite well it does also have niceties like undos and redos, resizing the canvas on the fly, overlaying a picture on the canvas to trace, and other welcome aides.

It's just a really nice, relaxing experience. Highly recommend it.

This is me at the moment - games which are touted as looking stunning just don't do it for me. GT7 being a stand out example, I'm just not seeing it. It's not half as impressive as something that doesn't look as good but is immersive.

I remember playing my OG Xbox over VGA quite happily thinking I was in the 1080i crowd until a friend told me it only outputted at 720p. Even when I got a newer one with HDMI I can't say I yearned for 1080p. My OG PS4 looks fantastic on a 4K TV even though it can't output at the maximum resolution. I'm still PC gaming at 1080p (albeit ultrawide). I only ever notice the difference between 1080p and 4k at my in-laws and that's because their TV is enormous and they have the old Virgin box hooked up to it because reasons.

VR though - :datass: . Even though I've "only" got a Quest 2 it's just a complete sea change in immersion. I know I sound like a wanky acolyte but it's just so much fun.

I see Unplugged Air Guitar is on sale today (£15).

Has anyone here picked it up? It looks like it could be fun, but I hear very polarising things on how well the hand tracking works.

I suppose there is no reason for me not to pick it up and refund it if it seems broken, but was wondering if anybody had any tips etc.

I've got my eye on it too so let me know how it is if you get it. I imagine the tracking reliability will vary wildly depending on the controllers being used. I like to think the Index controllers would work well but let me know.

Okay so, Pistol Whip is incredible. I can't believe you all kept it a secret from me.

Sweating a bit now though. :slol:

Not sure why, but even though I didn't click with the normal Among Us, I'm really interested in this. Just hope it's not another Quest 2 exclusive, but even if it is, I'm sure it'll be available to sideload.
