Any day one recommendations?

Quest native? Pistol whip. Red Matter is great and I keep meaning to pick up The Room (holding out for a sale, but that’s not really a thing on Quest, think pre Switch Nintendo in terms of “bargains”)

Good summer sale on the Oculus Quest store at the moment. Much better than the Anniversary one they did. Picked up Shadow Point, have been meaning to grab it for a while.

Not surprised, just disappointed.

We all knew this was coming as soon as they bought them out. I'm surprised they took so long.

It is that simple right? I have a Quest, and although i'm not privacy obsessed i really don't like Facebook. So i can just create a new FB account with any old name and email address and link it? Seems simple enough.

On a more positive note, i started Shadow Point on my Quest last night. It seems wonderful so far. Puzzles have felt perfectly pitched and the production values are really high. I love dipping back in to VR after taking a period of time off from it (its been far too hot). It feels magical all over again.

I'm sure they're doing this just because I deleted my Facebook last month. :x

At least I still get 2 years more use out of it. Then we'll have to see what exactly limited functionality actually means. Not that I'll be able to do much VR gaming in 2023, as I've have a 2 year old top worry about tripping over.

Yep, it's been far too warm, and I've barely fired up any games in weeks now. Might grab The Room, and get back into it now things have chilled a little.

I keep meaning to pick that up, it's definitely next on my list. Loved the mobile games.

I played the Iron Man demo the other night. Did not expect to enjoy it at all (no love for the franchise, always frustrated by move controllers) but i absolutely loved it. Will definitely be getting it when it goes on sale. It sounds like load times and a host of other things have been improved by the most recent patch which is good news.
I have also gone back to NG+ on Blood and Truth and i had forgotten just how immersive that game is (for a glorified shooting gallery). I cant believe PSVR is coming up to 4 years old.....

Also finishing up Shadowpoint and completing some Pistol Whip levels on hard (Quest).

If anyone wants to share their Quest gamertag for score chasing etc let me know!

I still use my VR every day. Only days I didn't was when the inside of my flat was like 35c in the heatwave. I mainly use it for VRChat just because I've kind of fallen off playing other games while I watch a bunch of Gundam but it's so, so good. One of the best purchases I think I've ever made.

No queasiness, although i'm pretty immune to motion sickness nowadays. I actually used snap turning rather than the smooth option despite this, as i found it was quicker and did not have the inertia that using push buttons for rotation gives. It also seemed a bit juddery with smooth turning (lol). I think you can rotate your body to turn (i guess it follows the head tracking like lots of games do), but my PSVR is in a very small room so i did not really move my feet. When i did it does a clever thing of overlaying arrows to show where the camera itself is relative to your body position.

The sensation of flying is excellent, the HUD is really vibrant and dense with info, so it really immerses you in the feel of it. When you boost it feels like you are moving quickly, but its absolutely comfortable.

PSVR has an AMAZING library of games. Its such a shame the tracking is so awful. They could really get a new lease of life if they are compatible with PSVR2 controller options (whenever that gets released).

PostRe: All platform VR discussion: PSVR, Oculus, Index, VIVE et al| Minecraft VR is coming to Minecraft VR!
by Venom » Mon Sep 07, 2020 3:47 pm

I admit I'm surprised Microsoft is supporting PSVR as it may make the PS4 version seem like it has an extra feature to Xbox (although Xbox may still have a VR reveal at some point). But I'm very happy about this and it signals that Microsoft games can benefit from being on other platforms.

Us Mojang folks have been bursting to say something about this for ages! PS VR support has actually been a planned PS4 feature since we got the thumbs-up from Sony to bring cross platform play and the Bedrock version to PlayStation 4. There was never any question of would we, just when.

So, I guess you’ll be wanting to know some details? Once we’ve finished the final bits of polish to the experience, the PS VR support will arrive via a patch for the main Minecraft game. Everyone who has Minecraft on PlayStation 4 will get that patch automatically. Download that patch and you’ll get access to the new Minecraft VR functionality. Of course, you’ll need a PS VR setup in order to use it. All of you have one of those right?!

But what is Minecraft x PlayStation VR, I hear you say? Well <drum roll>… it’s Minecraft, but in stellar VR. It is 100% the same Minecraft game that you can play every day, every week, every month, every year…on PlayStation 4. Nothing removed. 100% wholesome & pure full-fat Minecraft.

But surely there must be something different?Yes, of course! There’s a bunch of new settings & guidance so that you can tweak the VR experience to your needs. There’s also two main ways you can play the game in VR: Immersive and Living Room modes. We think both are cool, but it’s up to you.

Just like the main game, you use your DualShock 4 controller to move around and do all the crafting and choppy/fighty things that you need to do, but you’ll be fully immersed in your Minecraft world. I guarantee you will jump out of your skin at some point.

Despite the pandemic adjusting how we develop Minecraft, development on Minecraft for PS VR has been relatively drama-free. Dare I say it, normal, even. The Minecraft x PSVR experience itself is based on the Minecraft VR tech that we developed for other VR platforms a few years back. SkyBox Labs took that and have been working their magic to convert and optimise the existing tech for PS VR. And, of course, our friends at Sony have been there all along the way to guide us because they know their system better than anyone.

It’s been a brilliant team effort and we’re so excited for PlayStation VR’s players to get to experience a gorgeous, immersive version of Minecraft!

Faceboculus gave me £8 of store credit, so I picked up The Room, and it's brilliant. Competed the first section in the museum, and it feels so good, poking around a dingy room full of Egyptian artifacts, unlocking bits here and there, solving puzzles, (although some feel much easier compared to the original mobile games, but maybe it's because I've only played the first area,) and triggering all the spooky set pieces. There's thunder and lightning going on all through this section, and it's so atmospheric, I love it. Plenty of great "AHA!" moments, when you figure out how to solve a thing, and you can dash over to the other side of the room to compete that puzzle.

Shame it's teleport locomotion, although I definitely wouldn't have a large enough space to play this in and walk around freely, and it does at least save you from wasting hours rummaging around bits of the room that hold no puzzle clues.

I have the room games, but not the vr one yet, but I can say from the others ive played that escape room type games realy suit VR. I'd highly reccomend 'I expect you to die' if you've not tried it.

I have to admit I felt a little queasy turning & such at speeds at times, but I find VR makes me feel queasy at times anyway

VR minecraft would be terrifying! :dread:

As for MS games doing well on other platforms... they’ve had 6 of the top 10 steam games For past couple of months. Halo alone has stayed in top 10 since it launched. MS flight Sim, Grounded etc. I think that’s a bigger ‘signal’ MS games do well.

I think it’s aces they added PSVR support for free.
