Try the demo first then. Only tried the demo, first go in VR and only made me slightly sick for about a minute then I seemed to get used to it. One I've been waiting to go cheap but I'll wait till payday for Wipeout and maybe Rez (which I've not really long bought on Google Daydream) decided I really need Astro Bot now!!

It might be dependant on where you set the viewpoint. I played in cockpit view and didn't really get too bad. I'd imagine a chase cam would really screw you up though.

I'm surprised how little motion sickness I got playing this, it's really well optimised.

Tried the Tumble demo this afternoon and was excellent - definitely going to get the full game.

It's also an option to consider if you ever want to take the console somewhere and don't want to bring a TV.
I do this when going to my nans and just take the ps4 and psvr and it works fine with all games and saves space in the car.

Wait until this really takes off.

PSVR 2 wirelessly connected to PS5 with 4K and inside-out tracking

Wipeout is to this day the only game that's made me turn the game off due to nausea. Felt like I was going to die.

That said I was seeing how far I could push myself with the comfort settings before it did. I think I had all of them off. But there are quite a lot of things you can tweak to help it.

I think expecting dual 4k displays is rather ambitious given the high refresh rate VR needs. I think a much moree viable option is dual 2k displays as that's still a vast increase in resolution and using the tricks used by the Pro/One X can look pretty much identical to a true 4K resolution without having to have a £1k console.

The thing that really needs to improve is just make the unit lighter and have decent tracking without drift.

So... this is currently my home environment in SteamVR.
Image

It's fully explorable (inside the houses, and even the forest area) and it has the music as well. It's just too bad that saving an environment (to retain custom panel and object placement) doesn't also set your default position to your current location. The tower provides a nice overview, but it would be nice to be able to set the starting position to somewhere else just for variety's sake.

Yeah, it is mostly just a place to go when starting up the VR and inbetween different games but... it's nice.

I think you mean December.

Be interesting to see how it plays in VR, not sure a shooter like that will work all that well.

Same experience for me, the 'Lock Camera to Pilot' setting made me feel incredibly nauseous, especially when doing barrel rolls. Really fun though.

I played the demo of Battlezone on the PSVR last night, quite enjoyed it. The sense of being in this massive cockpit was very convincing (even though you couldn't actually see any arms and legs holding the controls, ala Battlefront or Elite), and the controls were nice and simple.

I didn't even feel that motion sick with it, which surprised me considering how mobile you are whizzing around looking in different directions. My face did get a bit of a cold sweat on though, which is normally a precursor to feeling proper sick :slol: :dread:

I imagine there's a big opportunity for a AAA mech game to make an impact, something like Steel Battalion or Armored Core would be ace.

I fixed my G29 today, so now the paddles work again (repaired with post it notes of all things  ), so I tested project cars 2 and found it has rally cross! Holy gooseberry fool it's amazing anyway, but in vr it's absolutely exhilarating.

Everyone will be different. I tried all settings and just couldn’t play it. Damn shame as it looks amazing, it wasn’t so much the speed but the jumps

Can you lock the camera to the horizon in cockpit mode? Dirt rally has that option and it can really help take that away when you're doing a lot of jumps.

That's really nice. I used to have the holodeck as mine but it went away when the home environment came in. I really must put it back.
