I am bloody knackered. I think I should play more stuff sitting down and get fit. I may get a steering wheel now as well. No signs of motion sickness but I do need to rest for a while. One think I do feel gets overlooked is watching a movie, it's almost on a par with seeing it on the big screen, I just need some twats talking too loud, some bint on a phone and lots of coughing and spluttering.

If you are in to sims in any way, you absolutely have to do this. I use a Logitech G29 and a playseat challenge for my VR stuff. It's so immersive.

Subnautica
X-plane 11
Adr1ft
Hot dogs, horseshoes and hand-grenades
I tried No man's sky but I think I need to play with some settings.
Apature hand labs which was a nice intro to getting it all comfy.

I still need to try Assetto Corsa, Dirt Rally, DCS, Scanner Sombre, Beat Sabre, Minecraft, Alien Isolation, Tabletop Simulator, Elite Dangerous, Pavlov and Iron Wolf.

Why the strawberry float the F1 games have no VR is beyond me.

I am open to suggestions for new stuff.

I have those 3, and all are amazing in VR. You'll need a HOTAS for maximum elite fun imo. I have a X52 pro which works well (but is pretty long in the tooth now).

I highly reccomend Project cars 2. It's pretty much all I play racing wise now.

And yes, god only knows why the f1 games have no vr support. It's why I refuse to buy them. Once you go vr racing you can't go back to a monitor.

I have the Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog. I just got it out of the cupboard and I forgot how heavy the throttle was. strawberry floater weighs more than the Index and everything that came with it.

Ah nice. And in answer to your question, I've often thought of mounting the hotas to the playseat, so I can fly the ship and then when I land on the planet I can drive the river with the wheel. You could probably use the pedals as extra controls along with the hotas, I've not tried it but surely it's possible.

I did some checking and playseat do a cross compatible units however it's £320. :dread:

I forgot to add that the Index controllers don't work well with Subnautica at all. Tis a steaming pile of shite.

I have played some more stuff and tried some of the free tech demos. The older stuff seems to give me a major case of motion sickness.

Minecraft was nausea inducing due to how you turn so I will have to work on that to make it more tolerable.

I have been taking my time just getting used to things and not trying to overload myself with playing everything in one stupid go. I have given Project Cars 2 (it was on sale on steam) a go and I need a strawberry floating steering wheel now just to add more to the experience as it felt so nice bombing down Hockenheim classic in a McLaren P1.

I do need to play with the settings to get better visuals with the Index.

Just played the knuckles tech demo Moondust. It was short but fun and seeing Wheatly flying past in space was a nice touch.

strawberry float me pinball in VR is a bit distracting, I was watching the table and not playing. So much going on.

Did you ever get round to trying DCS? I still really want to try VR but I am reluctant to spend the money on something I will only use with one game,

This post is exempt from the No Context Thread.

If I ever get my strawberry floating vr system back, I'll give it a go and put some videos up. I always forget it's available and the i want to give elite some more time, so I'll do this as well.

I have tried it and the text is clear as day to read however I am trying to get it dialled in with performance as I need to drop textures as my 1080ti is having issues doing more than 70fps, its taking some fiddling but I am getting there.

I will be honest as say to hold off as ED are doing some work with Vulcan and hopefully that will improve the VR performance.

An updated version of the PSVR Mega Pack is launching on 4 October. It's already up for pre-order at Amazon for £299. Games included are PlayStation VR Worlds, Astro Bot, Skyrim VR, Resident Evil VII and Everybody's Golf.

The original pack can currently still be obtained from Amazon for £295 if you prefer that game selection. Games included are PlayStation VR Worlds, Astro Bot, Skyrim VR, Doom VfR and Wipeout Omega Collection.

Both packs are super value, especially if you can get them a little cheaper (I got the original pack for £240!) but it's worth noting that they don't include the Move handsets which could cost another £70. They're not essential but are nice to have for some games.

I'm not 100% sure because I've never tried it, but I can't image Everybody's Golf VR is quite the same without a Move controller (it's excellent with a Move controller by the way).

Did you buy the knuckles controllers? (Or whatever they're called now). Would love some impressions on if they're worth the cash or not (I have a Vive).

I will just say you have to get them, they are brilliant.

Yes there are some issues with the stick clicking and stick drift for some people but I am yet to have issues with them.

The are very comfortable and feel very secure in your hands with the palm strap and wrist lanyard. The ability to just let go and it stays in your hand is good when resting. I have had a full 6+ hours of battery life from each controller as well. Playing Pavlov or H3 seems a little more immersive when handling guns and with the vibration just adds to the experience.

IGN looking at all the PSVR stuff shown last night.

But the most important part is that GORN IS COMING TO PSVR THIS WINTER.

I've legitimately had more fun with GORN than just about anything else in VR, which is saying something. Hyper-violent and sweat-inducing it's guaranteed to bring out the sadistic maniac within. I loved the Oculus Rift version and I'm probably gonna double dip on this as well.

Can't recommend it enough.

Isn't it something that's better with a large play space and really good tracked controllers though?

I'm hoping for a Quest release.

Oh yeah the Oculus Connect 6 Keynote is on now...

Official support for PC pass through with a USB cable coming to Quest in November. Quest Link.

Hand tracking coming to Quest in early 2020.

EDIT -

Adding Passthrough+ to Quest.

Making Passthrough be on demand on Quest.

Adding 50+ Oculus Go apps to Quest, free upgrades to Quest versions if you own an app on Go.
