Just played Wipeout.
Holy gooseberry fool :o
It’s incredible. I knew that it was highly-rated, but I still didn’t expect what just happened.

This VR fad is the future. The future, I tells ye.

Why in God’s name did I wait until Xmas Eve to play this?? I’ve had it for two weeks but I thought I should get my VR wings first. I didn’t experience any motion sickness at all.
The kids are going to be up at 6am so no late-session. I have to tip-toe around whilst they get off to sleep. Then I have to be on high-alert in case they wander downstairs, so no headphones.
What a twat.

Anyway, have a great Christmas everyone. See you on the other side.

... . It is definitely a cool game in VR, Dice', although personally I did feel the effects a little bit; I will return, though! Enjoy your Christmas, dude.

Who can read in the car as a passenger?
I can no worries, and I’ve been VR fine.
My Mrs can’t even sit in the back of a car, or face the opposite direction on a train to where it’s going. VR strawberry floats her up badly.
Seems like a little test to know if you’ll get motion-fucked.

Yeah, I can't read whilst in a car and I am much more comfortable sitting in the front for longer journeys, too! So far I've set my VR playtime to thirty-or-so-minute chunks; and for games like Doom and Wipeout I'll need to modify the movment options a bit.

Funny enough, I got vertigo while looking down from tall places. The worst game for that is Batman: Arkham VR.

I actually get into a panic while looking down and get that feeling of falling. So I completed the game looking across and upwards, but never downwards.

I've completed 2-1 and I'm gonna give 2-2 a go tomorrow... based upon your reactions, I'm looking forward to it!

I, too, am thinking about moving Astro-Bot into my GOTY placing. It is just so much fun to play; I can't really think of many games over the years that have made me smile so much  .

Just played level 2-2. Completely awesome... genuinely brilliant! I'm taking my time and not rushing through the levels; but so far it feels like a total gem.

I can't get over how good the graphics are. You feel like you're actually in the gameworld, totally three-dimensional... and yet there is no tearing or weak textures. It's astonishing.

The water effects are my favourite.

No Richies Plank experience for you then, not that i'd pay the 9 quid for what it is.

In Superhot you have to sacrifice yourself at one point, which is a jump to your death, I took the headset off and moved it in front of me to do

Played Rollercoaster Legends II, don't waste your money. Completed the ride and then the object mode and that was it. Underwhelmed. Until Dawn: Rush of Blood is definitely the better coaster experience with a huge horror element on top.

Currently giving Gun Club VR a go. Need to unlock more weapons and sort out some tracking issues but it does what it says on the tin and has a ton of options/weapons

TheGameCollection have the Firewall bundle for £49.99. Treated myself to a Chrimbo pressie :)

Got Astro-bot for Christmas. Really hyped for this based on the feedback in this thread!

Played Rez Infinite in VR this morning. Used the PS4 gold headset and it’s one heck of an experience. Still not sure I have the stomach for experiences much more than an hour mind you.

What do you all use to clean the PSVR lenses? The blue cloth is ok but it's the edges I want to do and it seems to just smudge it there.

I use alcohol wipes that the missus uses for her gigs, same thing after a sweat sesh on the likes of Beat Saber otherwise the material will end up disintegrating if sweat isn't cleaned from it.

I have completed 2 races (with all comfort settings on) in Wipeout. My VR legs are definitely improving.
Once the race was over and the CPU took over control for the post race lap, that was pretty bad however.

I'd really like to try Ultrawings, how does that compare to Wipeout VR in the sickness stakes? With all comfort settings on, does anyone think it is comparable to Wipeout with comfort on?

I’m pretty susceptible to motion sickness and find Ultrawings to be not too bad. Not tried Wipeout as I was sure it would make me ill. It has quite a few comfort settings but it’s all quite slow paced.

That's handy, thank you. There is a demo of Wipeout VR (I didn't want to commit to it in case it did me in) so you could give that a try if you wanted - but turn on all the comfort settings.

What?

VR user Cheeky Devlin is evolving!

Just ordered myself an Oculus Rift. :D Comes on Saturday, along with a shiny new Saitek X52 HOTAS stick for Elite Dangerous fun times.

I'm gonna play so many VR Porn indie games. :slol:

Enjoy, elite is fantastic with that hotas and vr :toot:

I've just thought, don't you have a pretty average spec pc? You're probably going to find you have to dial a lot of things down for vr, so graphics wise it may not be the massive jump over psvr you may be expecting. The tracking and hand controller tracking will be something else though, make sure you go through the oculus tutorials.

Yeah I've been wanting a proper HOTAS for a while, mostly for Elite, but also so I can go back to the X-Wing games like a boss. :datass:

I got a new PC last year and it should be more than capable of VR.

Ryzen 7 2700X 8 Core (3.7GHz-4.35GHz)
16GB Corsair Vengeance 2666MHz RAM
8GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1080

If not I'll be pissed.

The Steam VR test says it's fine though. My old PC would have cried if I tried to get it to do VR.
