Statik is on sale again on PSN, £3.99 if you have PS+. Its well worth that kind of money without a thought.

But it wouldn't really work on PC anyway, at least not without some major changes. Too few buttons on the motion controllers + you're free to move them separately.

Yeah, one of the few controller advantages PSVR has is the light bar in the DS4. Really makes some stuff like Statik and Astrobot feel a little more special.

I love how, in Astrobot, you see the Dualshock image on-screen and you then have to physically move the controller into the "outline" image to "get ready". It just looks awesome!

Three and a bit months.....

But yeah I figured this would happen.

Unless there are games that "need" the upgrade I'm happy enough with my current one though. That said, if it's not too expensive I might see if I can sell my current one and get the newer model.

Showed PSVR to my 10-year-old niece at the weekend. Seeing her reaction was incredible. She kept reaching out trying to grab stuff. I only let her play for a bit as it's meant to be for over-12s only. Honestly, one of my favourite things about VR is seeing people try it for the first time.

Someone was looking to buy a PSVR driving game a while ago but DIRT Rally wasn't cheap...

https://store.playstation.com/en-gb/pro ... LLY0001000

£6.49 for the full Dirt Rally with the VR expansion, well worth it.

In the wake of State of Play Sony posted on their blog that they have now sold-through 4.2 million units of PSVR which is almost 5% of the PS4 94.2 million shipped install base. Considering it a niche, first-generation product they have played a big part in proving that VR is part of the future of gaming and encouraging the growth of a VR ecosystem. Just think, when headsets become cheaper and lighter and wireless and the visuals get even better VR will have greater adoption.

Valve announce "Index" VR headset

https://store.steampowered.com/sale/valve_index/

Valve Corporation's long-rumored VR headset is finally real. After allying with HTC to launch the Vive as a SteamVR product in 2016, Valve has moved ahead with plans to launch its own headset, the Valve Index, in "May 2019."

...

Valve's dedicated website for the new device includes no other information than the above image and the date "May 2019." It does not include any mention of the new SteamVR Knuckles controllers, which Valve has advertised pretty heavily via developer outreach since their 2016 reveal and a later series of improved prototypes in 2018. This page also doesn't mention a series of three Valve-produced VR games that have been repeatedly advertised by Valve co-founder Gabe Newell since 2017.

I really hope Sony copy the Oculus controllers for PSVR V2.

I also hope they opt for dual 2K displays as even if the next gen is super high power I'd rather have really great 2K images rather than struggling like strawberry float to get 4K and most likely not managing it. 2K will still be a monster upgrade from PSVR.

I am looking forward to the Index, I am hoping it is released with the knuckles controllers, if it is I may get it.

Same. I was really, really excited about VR before the consumer sets came out, but then I tried the Vive at work about a month before release and while it was a great 'experience' it's short comings bothered me too much.

The idea of an updated set, and the knuckles, have reignighted my curiosity and I'm going to be paying close attention to the full announcement.

My PSVR stuff should be here by 1.

I got the mega pack, with Ace Combat 7 and a Move controller... I think, hope I read it correctly

That's brilliant, Pedz! Welcome to the world of VR ("It's just a gimmick, mate!" etc  ).

I can't wait to hear your verdict on Ocean Dive (part of the Worlds pack), Astrobot and Skyrim :toot: .
