Cheers folks! I’ll pick up a few of those over the next few months.

I’m also looking forward to the future of VR in Dreams. Exciting stuff.

I will say though that Summer is a rough time for VR. Keep your room cool.

Apparently these are the Valve Index controllers, in a video before the official reveal! They have finger tracking!

They do look really swish. The finger detection was really good to watch. I bet a lot of VR companies will be taking these apart to see how they can improve their controllers / software interfaces. I don't doubt there will be some issues with them but they are deffo a step in the right direction.

They look brilliant. I’m a bit out of touch with PC VR; any good sites which prioritise or provide enthusiastic coverage?

Those look absolutely fantastic. Day one for me (presuming they're not £500 or something hideous).

The difference to room scale immersion will be incredible.

For me it's the small strap that allows you to properly let go of the controller without it flying off. It makes such a difference as I find throwing actions can be a bit tricky on the Rift controllers as you're simultaneously trying to "throw" something, while holding onto it at the same time. It's weird.

Yes that'll be one of the best bits. Imagine being able to physically drop something, or reach out open handed and grab a gun to pick it up.

I was a little bit disappointed with PSVR when I had my first shot yesterday afternoon. I tried a couple of experiences and small demos and came away slightly underwhelmed. Fast-forward to this evening and I’ve just had two very different experiences, both of which left me really looking forward to having another go tomorrow.

First, and I’ve been looking forward to this since it came out - Tumble. For some reason the thought of stacking tangible 3D objects really appealed to me. It reminded me ever so slightly of The Cube (the kinda crappy Phillip Schofield tv show). I gave my partner a go as I’m the type of person who loves boring others with their interests - and she loved it! It’s just such a nice, slow, chilled out game. Can’t wait to play some more.

Next - Thumper. strawberry float me. I have this on Switch and had thought it was pretty intense on that. I’d read that playing it in VR was something else entirely, but I wasn’t really prepared for quite how “up my street” it was. The way you’re positioned just behind your wee beetle, leaning in and left and right, is great. The final big boss head guy of the first section is strawberry floating petrifying. He’s huge! It draws you in so well. So glad I tried it.

So that’s that then. Love it.

Not yet! I think I’ll have time to get stuck into that properly on Saturday. Looking forward to it.

So the Index page is up. It is more expensive than I thought it would be, however I am still very interested in it and depending on reviews will buy one.

£919.00 HMD, Knuckles and 2 base stations.

You can buy as separates as well.

Great that everything is available separately, and I REALLY want the knuckles controllers, but the price :dread:
