I think I've sent you a friend request.

Not noticed any dead pixels on my Quest, its the kind of thing I don't think I would notice unless I went out of my way to look for it and then I wouldn't be able to un-see it.

Finished (I think) Superhot VR, played some more Beat Saber and Space Pirate Trainer and went back to play the Creed demo a couple more times. Creed is a bit wonky sometimes, but its so much fun I might just have to buy it anyway.

I've got Eleven Table Tennis and The Climb on Rift, both are supposedly cross buy so I'm quite looking forward to both of them getting released on Quest.

Oh and I spent quite a lot of today playing Everybody's Golf VR on PSVR, its very good, not quite got the hang of my golf swing yet, but I can see putting quite a few hours into it to figure it out.

Got the request and accepted, cheers.
Everybody's Golf looks great, but I can't pick it up on the very first day of having the quest!
Yeah, the dead pixel is annoying, but you absolutely can only see it on completely black loading screens. Everything else is great so I'm not going to send it back.

Been getting back into using my Rift lately and picked up Fallout 4 VR the other day, had a few glitches but for the most part it's really impressive in VR. Not sure I could play through the entire thing like that though.

So proud to have my name in this thread topic. So I guess I should give some brief Quest impressions.

Basically, it's great! I was concerned about all the criticisms of the weight, but I have not found it to be an issue at all, it really does not feel massively different to PSVR to me. Also the often criticised light bleed through the nose recess has not been pervasive in my experience. But I have a big nose. Yay me.

I have found the integrated audio to be very acceptable, and have not bothered to plug in headphones so far. It's really quite surreal how well it works. Bit maybe I just had low expectations.

Tracking is great, completely different level to PSVR move tracking (main reason I bought the Quest). It's not perfect, and I found Creed to struggle (because you have your hands below the cameras). Overall it's going to be good enough for nearly all game types. Oculus has a very fair refund policy, so if a game is not working for you on a technical level (or any other) you can refund if played for less than 2 hours.

IQ is excellent, far less grainy than PSVR. Also black screens are actually black, rather than that chequered / clipped black that you get on PSVR. I have noticed some games struggling a bit to keep frame rates up (possibly unpolished demos, can't say for sure), but basically it does the job well enough.

Tetherless is impressive, but it's amazing how much room you would actually need to confidently exploit room scale. I don't think I will be able to, but spinning 360 degrees is good enough and liberating enough in most instances.

I will be returning mine as it has a dead pixel, and I'm starting to find it intrusive, but I am absolutely delighted with the purchase overall. It's amazing how quickly you can get in to VR now. The hardest/slowest bit for me is getting the correct controller in each hand and putting the wrist straps on. I'm old....

PSVR exclusive Blood and Truth is reviewing well it would seem.

https://www.resetera.com/threads/blood- ... ad.119392/

Mostly 7/8s.

I've been looking forward to this, so I'll probably pick it up at the weekend. Not played my PSVR in months though, so it'll be weird to see how it compares to the Rift.

I was pretty sure it was going to be crap, but from what I've seen it might actually be quite good.

Best to think of it as a more story driven, more interactive version of something like Time Crisis or Virtua Cop I think than a traditional action game.

Tempted to buy it even though I've got way too many games recently.

I was chewing this over with Mockmaster but we couldn't quite get the logo to gel... but, hey, for folk who're excited about the launch of Blood & Truth, here it is :-) .

Thank you for sharing! Whilst I have no plans to buy the Quest I am always interested to know how well the other VR experiences fair. I would of thought that this is more for casuals as it's an all in one device and not likely to be able to play more advanced VR games. If you have a gaming PC, why did you buy it?

If anyone is tempted to dive into the world of PSVR, it could be worth making 7 June your purchase day.

I hadn't realised you didn't have PSVR, Ad! :o . As a connoisseur of VR, you may find PSVR to be slightly lower tech than what you're used to, but stuff like Astro Bot and Wipeout are still majorly impressive and, perhaps more importantly, fun.

It's the reason I DON'T have it, becuase I can get nearly all of the games on the pc and they look/run better.

Tbh all I want is to play astrobot but I don't have any friends to borrow it from for a few nights.

I dont have a gaming PC, but if i did i think there is an even stronger reason to purchase one, as you can now stream to the Quest via 5ghz network any PCVR games you may have. Latency is apparently excellent (which really surprised me given all the naysayers regarding Stadia)

A cursory glance at the Resetera thread dedicated to the Quest should tell you that this is not aimed solely at a casual market. The obsessives are very much on board.

So it can be used as a proper PC VR headset, excellent.

Mind liking to this thread and/or something on streaming from PC to the Quest? Everything coming up from a google is "Maybe someday we might be able to stream to it, but not now."

I think this is the solution he was talking about, apparently there are others...

I dont have a gaming PC so i largely filter this information, but i keep hearing the apps "Riftcat" and ALVR" being banded around as methods of streaming. I believe you just install one of these on to both your PC and your Quest and then you just stream it over 5Ghz or USB C. The Resetera forum has a thread dedicated to it i believe.
