Yep, they (escape rooms) are amazing in VR.
I have not playe IEYTD yet, but as soon as it pops up in a sale for PSVR or Quest (it has been on deep sale several times for the former) i will snap it up (its on both my wishlists!)

In other news, i think i have all but put by back out playing Pistol Whip. Getting out of bed this morning was.... challenging.

Decent PSVR games sale on at the moment (PS Store). Im going to pick up Moss (finally) and Paper Beast i think. Moss is only £9.99 which i think might be the lowest its been.

As for MS games doing well on other platforms... they’ve had 6 of the top 10 steam games For past couple of months. Halo alone has stayed in top 10 since it launched. MS flight Sim, Grounded etc. I think that’s a bigger ‘signal’ MS games do well.

I think it’s aces they added PSVR support for free.

There's a promo screenshot that's made me realise how bad this may be in VR.

Often in Minecraft you just fall of the edge of something like a hill or a cliff or are pushed off when attacked. In normal mode it's nothing, in VR it could be genuine trauma-inducing, and not in a good way!

I've played Minecraft in VR before an it really turned my stomach (I cant hack smooth free movement). It is indeed terrifying in places, and you wouldnt beleive the real scale of a block until it's in front of you. They're probably about 3ft tall! You also get a really good sense of being closed in with confined spaces.

This is the thing, I love the immersion and sense of presence of VR but it can make me sick. Skyrim, without my whole little health ceremony gives me the worst pain in the head. Still, I would like to see the blocks and the sunsets, and the cows and the chickens. But I might have to play on easiest mode with no monsters.

Teleport movement would solve it all. It's the smooth motion that makes me want to puke up my own pelvis. Half life Alyx with teleport was amazing, switch it to free movement and I'd sweat and my stomach would churn.

Played the demo of Paper Beast last night (PSVR). It certainly seems worth the £13 or so it currently is priced at on PSN. It also had some of the best 3D sound design i have heard yet. Would love to play it on PCVR headset with a higher resolution though, the aliasing was quite prominent on things in the mid distance. It looked like a beautiful immersive experience though, and its great that Eric Chahi is still making wierd experimental stuff like this after all these years.

Facebook appear to have accidentally posted a load of Quest 2 info early

https://uploadvr.com/oculus-quest-2-leaked-by-facebook/

Upgraded processor, display, storage, and redesigned straps and controllers.

No IPD slider by the looks of it, though, which seems an odd thing to remove.

I wonder when it will launch. I have only had my Quest for 3 months or so, but my desire to upgrade it is probably greater than it is for my home consoles (i anticipate the actual tangible benefits could be greater). That being said, there is no way i could justify keeping hold of my existing one as well, and i bet selling a headset on eBay is a hillariously dicey proposition.

I anticipate that the extra power will be used for outputing at the increased resolution natively, meaning games will remain compatible across both system for the forseeable future. Not great for pushing the boundaries of what VR gaming can be the masses, but sensible to prevent alienating the huge existing instal base.

If Quest 2 means we start seeing a broader range of game releases (which i doubt for the forseeable future due to short shelf life of Quest "1") then it could be massive, but i feel the Quest library is really quite poor at the moment (when compared to PSVR or the Rift store). It will be interesting to see if it was the lack of power limiting the range of games on offer.

As long as Quest 2 has a better battery and is lighter I'll probably want to upgrade.

Battery has never been a problem for me. I use a counterweight which has sorted some of the comfort out, but its still nowhere near as comfy as PSVR.

I will be interested to see if it signalls more complex games. I dont need higher resolution versions of Beat Saber and Pistol Whip (great as they are), i want some of those more in depth games seen on PSVR and PCVR.

That being said, i only bought my Quest about 3 months ago and im kinda gutted that it is soon to be on the path to obsolesence. VR really is on the bleeding edge i guess.

I got my quest 4 months ago and I really don't mind upgrading as long as the price is right. My friend wants a quest so I can sell it to him for cheap. Battery isn't a big issue because I use a portable battery but since I use it so much having more base battery would be better for me given I use it like 4-5 hours a day. :fp:

The weight can be a bit annoying as well.

Holy strawberry float, the Quest 2 seems very good for the price. I might throw down a preorder!

Speaking to someone I know through a vrchat group who works at Oculus and he said now he can talk about it without being under NDA. He said it feels much lighter, the screen is much better and it's far less grainy. It's LED instead of OLED but he said the faster refreshing pixels removes a lot of the screen door effect.

£300/$300 is an insanely good price.

I won't be upgrading any time soon myself, but hopefully it's a sign of things to come, and others will look to compete in that price range. Either that or Facebook are absolutely locking up the entry level market, which will be a real shame.

Had quest since launch and it has had more playtime in a year and a half than my PS4 has in 5/6? So yeah it's a no brainer for me. Went for 64gb as I usually focus on one game at a time with bouts of beat saber so the space would be wasted. Used the saving to get the strap too. Still got my og anker battery pack from the counterbalance days so I'll use that if needed but I never really go over two hours at a time.

Nice to see you Rog! not seen you in ages.

Yeah I've ended up getting the Quest 2 and battery strap but I use mine for like 4-5 hours a day. I bought my quest 4 months ago as well. :slol:
