You played it yet? Went through the opening section till I got to the bar. Bloody good stuff but I think I need to mess around with the body settings as I was finding my VR arms too close to the body.

I was enjoying it, but then I died and it took me back to just before the first attack. Something wasn't working properly and the attack didn't happen. I was fannying around for a few minutes trying different things to trigger it, but nothing happened until it suddenly crashed! I had to force a shutdown.

Not great... might try again now actually and see how it goes.

FFS, even tried starting a new game but it keeps crashing. Crashed on me five times just now, couldn't even get as far as the first fight.

Reinstalling now...

Quest 1 or 2?

Got emailed a 25% off voucher code for Oculus store so grabbed Virtual Desktop for £11. I was already happy playing via Oculus Link but tested out Saints and Sinners via VD after installing the VD patch off SideQuest and was pleased with the results. WiFi did drop out though which is likely down to my PS5 downloading a gooseberry fool ton of games at the moment.

Is your Quest updated to V23? I know it's been slowly rolled out to users over the past week or so.

Yeah seeing lots of comments on V23 users doing a factory reset to overcome these issues. Not great when there is no cloud save for most games. Maybe see if they roll out a hot fix.
I have a Q1 and have not used it for the past couple of weeks. Anticipate the same headache (there is no way I am doing a factory reset if I can avoid it though, can’t bare the thought of jumping the rough all those hoops again to load custom BS songs.

Download Rookie's Sideloader VRP and backup gamedata and if it comes to a reset just restore from that. That way you should keep all your saves.

Not sure if mine's updated. Just played the Walking Dead again and managed a little over an hour before another crash. I've even noticed new stuttering while playing Table Tennis, which never happened before. Every now and then the movement will jar, so the whole environment sticks in place even when your head moves, which totally strawberry floats with your stomach if you're not expecting it!!

Don't like the sound of a factory reset at all! :| Let's see if they can roll out a patch to sort it out asap.

Can anyone explain the oculus quest pc link cable to me? The official one is £89.99 but I’ve read that you can buy way cheaper unofficial ones and they are fine. Has anyone else bought any? Is the length of the cable an issue.

Cable needs to be plugged into a USB 3 port (On your motherboards I/O) I bought this one from Amazon for £9 and it does the job brilliantly.

My whole device is almost completely unplayable now. The only game that doesn't crash is Beat Saber. :|

I've logged a support ticket. Guess I'll have to look into this factory reset option...

It's a constant stream of profanity and ill-will.

They've responded to my ticket, where I simply said "My device is crashing out of games very frequently. Some games will not load at all". I typed it out on the device itself :slol:.

I understand that your games keep crashing on your Oculus Quest 2 device. I will be glad to assist you on this.

In order to proceed with this I will need to ask you a few questions:

1) Does the crashing occur on any other games and apps?
2) Does this occur while using the headset or are you using with the Oculus Link on your PC?
3) Have you tried rebooting your device?

:|

"I understand that your games keep crashing. Does the crashing occur on any other games?"

FFS. I've gone back to say yes across several games, I'm not using Link and yes of course I've bloody rebooted it several times – the crashing has been happening for almost a week now.

Mate, that's crap. Hope it gets sorted soon. Worried to update my own headset now until this is resolved.

Thanks, yeah it's a bummer and I'd definitely recommend blocking the update for the time being.

Does mean I might git gud at Beat Saber in the meantime :shifty:.

Is there no way of rolling back the update?

They've just replied telling me to do a factory reset.

Might give it a go later on. Thanks to KjGarly for the heads up on that Sideloader thingy.
