I really like the look of Compound. Got so many VR games on my wishlist even after buying gooseberry fool loads over the past few weeks. Best money I ever spent.

Despite the omission of Judas, the Lady Gaga DLC pack on Beat Saber is absolutely God tier.

Vertigo Games publisher sale is currently going on Steam, including deep discounts on Arizona Sunshine and A Fisherman's Tale. 10% off on new releases After the Fall, and the frankly laughable looking hand tracking based Unplugged Air Guitar.

I can't justify buying more games right now as I have so many on the go and several waiting in the wings but you're really tempting me :x

Arizona is on my wishlist and, although I'd never heard of it, Unplugged sounds like something I would absolutely love. VR Guitar Hero? Hot damn, I want it.

Anyone else played the free game Dagon, an adaptation of the Lovecraft short story? It's only 30 minutes long and it's very janky but it's such an interesting and new way to experience a familiar story, listening to excerpts from the book as you take in the scenery and discover interesting facts about the author and the real world at the time the story is set. One bit early on gave me genuine chills and goosebumps. I'd really recommend it as a hope of better things to come.

Imagining some of the M.R.James stories in this style and it makes me giddy.

Also finally cracked the Beat Saber song I was stuck on and very quickly got to the end of the campaign. Only got those "move your arms Xm" to do now. Was only 2m off the 900m one and I was so annoyed.

Might start LA Noire tomorrow before beginning Walking Dead S&S.

Had a bit of a VR session tonight. Went through Arkham VR and really enjoyed it. £15 is absolute daylight robbery though, get it on sale.

I ended up giving Wander a go as it was on sale and I had some credit from referring GrinWithoutAKat (cheers!). It's really cool! Visited a load of famous landmarks and some favourite holiday destinations. I actually felt a sense of megalophobia visiting some of the big landmarks (Cristo Redentor in particular), it knocked me a bit sick!

I'm aware that Google do Streetview VR (which is essentially the same thing but free). However I do like the freedom of having a native app as opposed to having to be tethered to a PC (I've had Streetview installed for ages but never actually used it!) I could theoretically return it but I did basically get it for free :?

For VR, Project Cars 2 or Assetto Corsa Competizione? Or something else entirely.

I'm not a big racing gamer although I got big into Forza 2 all those years ago. Would be playing with a PS5 DualSense so just want to pick up the best racing game during the Steam sale to play in VR.

Project Cars 2 would probably the best. I think it's the most casual friendly sim, but also a much bigger selection of vehicles compared to ACC which is very focused on racing cars.

Hoping for a decent Quest store sale tomorrow. I have my referral credit sitting there to pick up Beat Saber, but also have my eye on Thrill of The Fight, Eleven Table Tennis and Real VR Fishing. I'll probably get Budget Cuts on Steam too if I can sort out my issues with Steam VR not seeing my headset when plugged in. I've seen some suggestions re-installing SteamVR can sort it.

Been really struggling with my Index this morning. Beat Saber was perfectly fine but I started up LA Noire and was constantly getting grey screens while playing until the screen stayed grey and I had to quit out completely. It also happened on Aircar. I had it a little bit in Alyx but never enough that it was too annoying. Anyone else experienced that?

It was like my base stations were losing track of the headset but I recalibrated the room and it didn't help. I might try and finally mount the stations high up today to see if that resolves the issue as they're currently at chest height on shelves.

EDIT - Seen a few comments suggesting trying a different USB port to fix the issue so I'll try that first.
EDIT 2 - Nope, that didn't help.

I bought Thrill of the Fight as well but I haven't played it yet because I let myself have a drink most evenings in December (usually stay off the booze Mon-Wed). It's supposed to be a great workout and quite an authentic sparring experience.

I used to get that a lot with my vive. The fix was to move it to a usb 3 socket, then in Windows power management, make sure usb sockets are not being put to sleep or having power reduced after a while. The problem never came back after that.

I actually love you, Ad. You're so helpful.

I've just gone into my power settings and found that "USB Selective Suspend Setting" was Enabled. So I've just disabled it and will see if that works. It does sound very promising though.

Hmm, still doing it but I'm no longer hearing the USB (dis)connected sound when the screen goes grey so your suggestion has definitely had some effect. Feel like I'm one step closer to fixing the issue.

Will recalibrate the room setting later and perhaps try another USB port.

Link isn't working right now, but there is an hour left on the current deals.

They say it's their biggest sale of the year, but sort of make it sound like it's bundles only.

Just spent far too much. Used my credit on Beat Saber, which I know never goes on sale, but it was worth waiting anyway as I've not really been playing the Quest yet, and was holding it back for Christmas. Got Real VR Fishing on the sale, Thrill of the Fight and Eleven Table Tennis were not on sale, but got them anyway, and then the sale tempted me to also pick up I Expect You To Die 2 (loved the first one on PSVR) and Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge and it's DLC, as they were on the wish list.

I might even be tempted to getting full price Super Hot in the next few days too as I love it so much on PSVR, but after playing with no wires on Quest, I think I'll find it quite hard to go back to PSVR for anything that involves more than just being sat still the whole time.

Played a bit of a few games this morning. Saints & Sinners seems like it'll be really good, just a shame that it doesn't seem to have teleport movement. I was surprised by the physicality of stabbing a zombie through the skull. Superhot was awesome as ever. Eleven Table Tennis, I actually beat the medium AI three times in a row so I'm getting much better. Half Life Alyx, I went back and got a couple of missed achievements, only need two more.

LA Noire is completely borked. The section I'm on is currently unplayable because the screen keeps greying out and then flys all around the room when it comes back before greying out again. It did happen once for a split second while playing Alyx but every other game had zero issues. Something about LA Noire seems to send it crazy. It's really bothering me because even when I'm playing other games I'm worrying that it might happen again, which defeats the point of VR as I can't let myself become fully immersed. Tried a few different USB ports, I'm sure I've turned off the USB standby setting and it's still doing it so I'm going to try mounting the base stations higher, although I don't think that'll help. I'll keep investigating online to see if I can fix this.

They're the ones with a blue interior, right? I'll take another look tomorrow just to make sure I'm not being stupid.

Probably the first thing you thought to check, but are there any reflective surfaces in the room you're playing in? Doesn't have to be a mirror, even a glass picture frame could cause issues.
