They really don't have many rights for anything from the Silmarillion do they! "Yeah so we just left Valinor to fight. Shhh don't mention Feanor.... :shifty:

Overall I liked it. I have the same issues I had with Jackson's movies (being a raging fanboy that hates change ;) ), but it just felt great to be back in Middle Earth.

Hmmmm, do not be hasty, that is my motto.

Haha, I just finished episode 2 and was glad they can at least mention Feanor and the Silmarils.

Good stuff so far. There are some annoyances of course, the main one being Galadriel turning into a long distance swimmer, but nothing to break my interest.

I'm intrigued to know who the stranger is. They are clearly hinting Gandalf (my inner fanboy screams in rage that it's too early in the history for it to be Gandalf!), but they are giving hints of evil as well.

I'm happy this seems to be okay. If only for reaction of the YouTuber twats who write TV shows off before even seeing them.

Like this fuckwit who has clearly never read any of the books and has zero understanding of what Tolkien would have thought.

I've only seen the first episode so far but loved it and have high hopes for it to continue. Won't get round to the second ep until Sunday at the earliest.

Really enjoying this. Not really into Tolkien in terms of reading the books but this has been great so far.

They are Harfoots right? Are they not meant to have darker skin or am I remembering this wrongly?

I'm surprised how much I liked these first two episodes, wasn't expecting much from a Lord of the Rings prequel. Really well done and the budget was dripping off the screen.

Assuming it's a known character he's surely either one of the wizards or Sauron. Presumably Sauron has already made contact with Celebrimbor and I'm not sure why Sauron would be falling out of the sky. Acting a lot like Gandalf and would explain his affection for hobbits.

Yeah they explicitly call themselves harfoots and harfoots do have darker skin than other hobbits. Crafty doesn't know what the strawberry float he's talking about as per usual.

I presume they got Irish actors in because they are perfect, Lenny Henry's is even decent.

Could be worse I guess, the short, belligerent, hard drinking people seem to have Scottish accents...

I don't think there are any Irish actors in the Harfoot lot actually.
