I saw the trailer, it's pretty short and doesn't give much away. It all looks quite glossy though, which is a bit jarring at first. Not sure if that's because of a switch to probably more CGI generated scenes, it looks a bit 'Star Wars prequelly'.

I felt the same about the Halo trailer. Something about the look of these two shows looks very low budget.

That’s exactly what I thought, LOTR in particular has a massive budget but the trailer really doesn’t scream that it does. A bit concerning.

Isn't it supposed to be the most expensive TV show ever? You'd hope that would translate into a decent-looking show.

I can't believe it would be the most expensive TV show ever. The CGI looks terrible. They should have learned from early Game of Thrones that you can make things look much bigger budget without an over reliance on CGI.

That said, it's going to be largely about the story and characters. If they nail that, then the CGI isn't going to matter so much.

As long as the eagles cgi is up to scratch, then we're good.

It's comfortably to be the most expensive TV show ever.

The first season alone has cost $400-$500m and I believe Amazon have committed to 5 seasons.

$500 an episode!

I can't watch the trailer until Wednesday, but I'm going to watch and enjoy every damn episode. Even if I hate it.

Pretty much this. If its half decent that'll be fine. It could be very good, though. That trailer doesn't indicate much tbh. In terms of feel and quality I'm hoping for closer to lotr than The hobbit but it'll probably be vice versa.

It definitely had a weird fantastical sheen to it but I quite liked the trailer.

Full trailer on 14th July.

I just hope this doesn't do a GoT and have the worlds shittiest ending.
