Watched Fellowship at the weekend.

Mines of Moria sequence :datass: :datass: :datass:

One small scene that really impressed me on this viewing was Gimli talking about Galadriel's gift to him. For a character that is basically comic relief a lot of the time, that is a beautiful scene.

I really hope they have an entire episode about the Dwarves doing the washing up as that was far and away the best bit of all the films.
Yes, battles are great but showing them doing household chores is where the ratings will surge.

That brief scene of Merry and Pippin washing up as a punishment gets my dick hard. EVERYTIME.

Yep, the whipping and shouting was just his way of inviting them all for a nice cup of tea and some cake  .

He's actually a lovely host who has better baking skills than Mary Berry with a wonderfully decorated guest area for his abode and his kids and wife are simply delightful.

I mean, it was a bit extreme killing him over it. The Mines of Moria has good reviews on Trip Advisor. The only people who complain about it are the dwarves. strawberry float knows what their problem is.

I asked for one hair from her golden head. She gave me three.

It's a beautiful bit in the book as well.

Plan to do The Two Towers this weekend. It's my least favourite of the three movies, but I still think it's a fantastic film. I'm wondering if that opinion will change on watching it again.

I was thinking about it last night, one of the reasons why I love these films so much is how well the actors work with expression. They say a lot without actually saying anything. Legolas's expression after running up and seeing Boromir dying is heartbreaking. And there's so much of this throughout the films.

It's the best ensemble cast. Everyone is perfect.

Filming wrapped today on Season 1 of Amazon Studios’ The Lord of The Rings TV series, and now we have a premiere date.

The studio has set Friday, September 2, 2022, for the debut of the first season of the yet-to-be-titled series. New episodes will be released weekly, exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 territories and countries worldwide. Amazon Studios also released the first series image tied to the wrap of filming in New Zealand.

It is a shot from the first episode of the series, but the studio is staying mum for now on the character and actor featured in the photo.

I thought this would be set around Númenor, but it looks like the Two Trees of Valinor?

I have tried to stay dark on this series, but does that mean they have the Silmarilion rights?

They must have to be showing the two trees. Apparently Sauron isnt in the first season so it might not be featuring Numenor until the second season or at least late in the first.

Oooh. Excitement levels increasing.

Apparently that is a shot of Valma or Valimar which is obviously in Valinor. I thought this was set in the first or second age. If that's the case the trees cant be Telperion and Laurelin because Morgoth and Ungoliant had already destroyed them by then.

:?:

I'm pretty sure Valma/Valimar existed before that happened.

Some thoughts online are the image is showing Galadriel and is likely to be a flashback of her remembering Valinor. I hope not, that would be a really horrible tease if we aren't getting to spend some proper time there.

It definitely existed before that happened. Galadriel is certainly old enough to have been there then. Isn't she kin to Feanor?
