Surprised they haven't thrown the base package in with Prime subscriptions. Maybe they will.

If lag is a big problem for you, at least on PS Now you can download the PS4 games. I presume this will continue to be the case on PS5. Doesn't exactly help with PS1 and 2 games, but surely they're not lagging too...

Should have gone all in on the Twitch stuff and call it Twitched On, or something.

Amazon’s Luna game streaming service is powered by Windows and Nvidia GPUs:
https://www.theverge.com/platform/amp/2 ... pu-servers

Amazon has confirmed to The Verge that Luna will run on a standard version of Amazon’s EC2 G4 server instance running Windows, complete with Nvidia’s T4 GPUs and Intel’s Cascade Lake CPUs. Nvidia’s T4 is based on the company’s Turing architecture that also powers the previous generation RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti graphics cards. A single T4 GPU (Amazon might be using multiple) provides 8.1 teraflops of performance and support for Microsoft’s DirectX raytracing technology.

What this all means is that it should provide smooth gaming performance at the 1080p resolution Luna currently supports. 4K, which Amazon says is coming soon, might be more of a challenge for Luna on this hardware, especially without dialing down graphical settings in some demanding games.

So what's happened here is Amazon have seen how things have gone for Google with Stadia, and thought to themselves "We want that to happen to us".

No idea if there was a specific topic for this, but Amazon's one remaining game we know about, horribly racist MMO The New World, has been delayed again.

Luna is now available in the UK.

Eurogamer wrote:Amazon is offering multiple Luna subscriptions as well as Twitch integration. The Luna controller is also now available.

Prime members will have access to a monthly rotating selection of games at no extra cost. This month it includes Capcom's Mega Man 11.

However, the main bulk of Luna's offering is available with Luna+. It's a monthly subscription offering access to a diverse range of games, including indies and retro games, priced at £8.99 per month.

On top of that, Amazon has partnered with Ubisoft to provide access to AAA titles like Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, Watch Dogs and more for £14.99 per month. In addition, a subscription to Jackbox Games is available for £3.99 per month. Amazon is aiming to partner with more publishers in the future.

Edit: Hmmn... clicking on the "Learn more" button on any of the subscription pages is producing an error message.

Linking bonuses to your Prime account is a decent idea to be fair. But this absolutely stinks of Stadia, and I'm not sure how this succeeds where that didn't.

If they're serious about this service the controller will be £20 at the next Prime Day/BF.

Gave it a go and linked my Unisoft account to it, tried The Division (the first one) on the basis I'd already played it so wouldn't have to go through a whole intro sequence before actually doing anything. Slightly choppy in places but given my pc is getting long in the tooth it's not far off how it was when I had it installed tbh, and this was upstairs by WiFi a long way from the router. If I get the chance to try it on the fire TV cube which is next to the router and plugged in it might be better.

Will probably give this a shot at some point, just to compare it to other services of nothing else.

Assuming it works on all recent Fire Sticks?

It should do. I'm conflicted with this; on the one hand I could play the ubisoft stuff I have for PC, and pick up activation keys for things that wouldn't run on my PC relatively cheap through resellers etc, so the later asscreeds, watch dogs legion, ghost recon why not, but then I A) won't have time to actually play them and B) if luna gets canned like all the other streaming services i'll have loads of games that i won't be able to play without a significant hardware upgrade vs just picking up the PS4 versions that will probably not run as well and are limited to the one box in the living room instead of on my pc, laptop and even amazon fire tablet.

Also playing The Division - a game about a post-pandemic hellscape - is a really interesting experience after the whole covid thing.

Not a bad selection of games there, but too much crossover with Game Pass and my own collection to warrant me subscribing.

Worth noting:
Prime members will have access to a monthly rotating selection of games at no extra cost.
It's very limited, though: Jackbox Party Pack 3, Yakuza 2, Horizon Chase Turbo and The Adventure Pals.

The available games are a lot better than I thought they would be to be honest. Not an awful price either, not that I’ve any plans on adding yet another subscription to the list though.
