From what I’ve heard, it’s more the other way round. The streaming services are desperate for new content, because all production was put on hold for months.
Yeah I imagine thereare pressures on both sides, but with the streaming platforms I imagine it's less. They have incumbent subscribers who are relatively unlikely to ditch them immediately if new content doesn't appear for a while so that's a pretty steady revenue stream. Whereas if you are a content producer who is sat on a new big budget movie with literally no way to make money back on that now or in the near future then you are going to be feeling a considerable squeeze!
Thing is big film studios keep delaying their releases. They seem desperate to cling to the old model of big cinema releases and Blu-Ray/DVD sales before letting their big budget releases hit streaming services.
