This is from 4 years ago - but seemed to be closest thing to an "Amazon" generic show thread

I really hope they nail it

I think this has passed with far too little comment.

I am casting Bumblebee to my TV right now, and as happy as a clam with glittery lipstick on!

Which I imagine is pretty happy

Yup!

Finally Amazon and Google have gotten the strawberry float over themselves and sorted their crap.

Amazon now sells Google stuff
FireTV has a YouTube app
Prime has ChromeCast

Wooo

Using my TVs built-in Amazon app the audio is always out of sync, so this might make it watchable finally!

I've had to use the app on my BT TV box and on a Blu-ray player and holy strawberry float are they slow. Means I tend to favour Netflix as I can browse on the app and cast so it's just a batter experience. This levels the playing field considerably as there is some very good stuff on Amazon I tend to overlook

Given how god awful the Amazon Prime video browsing experience is I'd imagine a lot of people are overlooking a lot of content there.

Yeah I've never been a fan of the UI at all. The mobile UI is slightly more bearable but still not the best and I still hate the way they sneakily mix in content you have to pay for along with the free stuff.

Just having an "Included with Prime" filter would be a drastic improvement.

The app has that. On each catagory it has an "included with prime" tag you have tap, and under filter you can can choose "ways to watch" and "included with prime"

That's not true on the PS4 app.

Or the Smart TV apps.

Also, just make it easier to find and watch 4k stuff.

I ditched Amazon Prime for reasons that relate to not buying endless crap I don't need on the internet, but I mostly found Amazon Prime Video totally unusable.

Or the Smart TV apps.

Don’t have either of them so can’t answer for them, but they have it from the android and iOS app now for casting.

The XB1 App has the tag, not sure about the filter. The App overall has worked great for me.
