Just got an S10 after a decade of iphones. Obviously setting it up with the obvious apps I a m familiar with but anything else I’d have missed being on Apple’s ecosystem only?

Google Pay so you can buy stuff using your phone and not need you cards?

It has samsung pay on it but it doesnt support many banks so is a bit rubbish, which is a shame as the way it works is much better from a security point of view.

Thanks.

Out of curiosity, why is that with Samsung pay?

Samsung pay you have to unlock the card with thumb or pin and it enables payment for 30 seconds, google pay works up if the phone is just unlocked so it’s easier someone to be dodgy with android pay and tap a reader or something against your phone when your using it.

Also, Samsung pay is available from hone screen, lock screen and the app to swap card etc. Whereas google pay you need to open the app so it’s more usable that way too.

But as I say their support bank list is tiny so unless you only use the banks on the list it’s annoying (one of mine isn’t on the list which is why I can’t really use it) although I do use it on my watch for just my main account as Starling are supported.

You don't need to open the app to use Google Pay. You just need to unlock the phone.

I know, I meant if you want to swap card from your default you need to open the app, but with Samsung you just swipe up from the bottom of the screen on the home screen and swap cards

Looks like I'm going for a RedMagic 5G. £539 seems very reasonable for those specs.

Just googled advantages of Vanced and first two are:

All ads are blocked.
Background playback.

How do they manage the first one legally?

Looking at RedMagic reviews on Amazon that I can find doesn't look massively inspiring.

Never heard of Vanced, though I use OGYoutube to achieve the same things.

Looking into it, it doesn't seem to be that popular right now. The Samsung Galaxy S7 and Nokia Lumia 950XL were some big names from the past, these days it's reserved for specialist gaming phones. Perhaps 'loads' was pushing it.

I am not a fan of the oneplus 8 body design, it looks like a large S7
