My S9+ just updated to Android Pie and they've removed the option to hide the navigation bar :fp: :x

You can't even change the colour so it not only consumes screen real estate from some apps, but it's always this big obnoxious white bar even when using dark background websites.

Turn on full screen gestures under display.

I personally like the nav bar. Feels like I might drop my phone with the gestures but they're there.

It's a good update and timely for a change.

That's not at all the same thing though. It means you lose the buttons entirely and can only control with gestures instead, and you're still left with a small navigation bar occupied with three lines.

Turn off the hints option. It's not the same but it's inline with Android P design to be fair.

Only really upgraded because I wanted a new toy.
Still fast to use, battery still lasts a day without any problem.
Still have the box and original gubbins.

Can anyone recommend me a relatively cheap android phone? My one still works but the power button fell out so I'm thinking of getting a new one soon.

I just want something that has a good battery life, has little to no bloatware and could possibly emulate PSone games to a decent standard.

What's your budget?

Honor Play is £240ish and that seems to have great reviews.

Our friendly neighbourhood Chinese spy organisation WAAAHWAAAY.

It's their budget range, but by all accounts is as good as their mainstream brand.

This update seems to have borked the always on display on my S9 even though it's in the options and on odd.

A friend at work picked up a Motorola phone for £110 the other day...he didn't know what model it was but it looked really good. Couldn't believe the price of it.

How/where do you turn off the hints? This has been pissing me off since my S9 updated last week! :x

Also they seem to have removed the ability to disable the bixby button which is incredibly annoying.

I see you're also a man who acknowledges the superiority of the back command being on the left.

Ha Physical button master race. 8-)

I wonder if now they're just doing gooseberry fool to annoy people, rather then purposefully slowing down their older phones since they got busted for that before...
